Hi Cameron thanks for that, I did a video (post 277) to show a loco running but will atempt to do another. I'm pretty restricted for space at the moment as its lashing down here in sunny Spain with a forcast for the same over the next 4 days. So I have to work off our small dining table ... ? ... and I'm making excuses ...

Congrats on pic of the week Ian

    Well deserved I must say..:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

The figures and the foliage help to bring the layout to life and I think you`re right to use restraint with the grass. Sometimes a suggestion of something goes a lot further that the full on version.

Have soldered some bent wire onto a non magnetic coupling hook fitted to an Airfix 16t mineral wagon and tested a neodym magnet under a spare piece of track as per the Gormo guide ... and my auto uncoupling works fine so that will be incorperated into my plonk when I return from the UK. Also i reckon there has to be a way of using magnets to create a working coal drop with a Triang hopper wagon ... mmm did I say I was finished ...

Great video footage Ian. The amount if detail that's went in is incredible.

    Some piece of work.

    I`ll second that Toto
Great job there Ian. There`s plenty of interest there too......little cameos, appropriate amounts of dirt and grime and stains......all adds to a believable scene.
The video shows it off very well. I firmly believe that railway modellers are artists of another branch of the faith, another school if you like, because your model and many, many others I have seen over the years, certainly reflect that artistic touch at work.
I must give you a maximum score of five thumbs up, my absolute limit....:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
Well done sir and an honorary mention in dispatches for completing. Not many modellers ever complete a project.

Thank you Gormo for your kind and thoughtful remarks. I agree entirely with what you say regarding it being an art form ... its how we percieve our scaled down world ... and it moves! 5 thumbs surely too many but thanks.

Congratulations Ian, you've managed to cram an amazing amount of detail in a very small space :thumbup::thumbup:

I've decided to continue this thread as my mini plonk (St Mick) build and have decided to start a few projects for existing module and second section ... including ...

    a. Modifying a Triang hopper wagon so that it works on the coal drop ( using magnets)
    b. Dapol railbus using 142 chassis (ordered)
    c. Canal quay with (working?) coal drop.

After Xmas that is ... and tinto ... and turkey
    .. and goats cheese ...

Ian sounds like an expansion is about to occur, will this all link to the earlier plank sections you were building to form one long plank??:thumbs::thumbs:

Hi Chris the new plank will join my Townstreet comp plonk as follows. One day if I ever get a permanant railway room I'd like to join them both to my St Michael layout.[size=
