Cheers Paul it's definitely a learning curve for me after the Lcut builds but enjoyable. As stated earlier I'll also be assembling the Lcut model side by side in my normal workbench so once the 4 walls are built here I'll do the same with that one. Scalescenes seems like a combination of Metcalfe and Lcut.... now I just need mi tinto.

    Ian .

I find the Scalescene kits very well designed, thought out and straight forward to build, the only word of caution would be with card thicknesses, for the most part using thicker or thinner card than specified wont make any difference, but occationally it does. :whatever:

I used to hate building buildings, Mr Wiffen ( the Man behind Scalescenes) has a lot to answer for, as I found I could make half decent buildings, relatively easily, and any mistakes were just a reprint away. And now I'm building an inner city layout :eek: :whatever:

Ok progress report required so here goes .... I can see why this kit is recommended as a first Scalescene build as i imagine many of the techniques required for bigger projects are used here. I did over compensate on the card thicknesses but that again is a useful lesson and hasn't affected the build other than I had to re-glue and clamp one side . The instructions were clear and as I progressed they became even more logical with some being useful for other non Scalescene modelling. Anyway here goes

    a. The walls are assembled

Blimey at this rate I'm not gonna have anything to do until the end of May ... unless the roof is a swine to fit (but I doubt that). Anyway coal added to the staithes and weighbridge planted.

Hi Gary when I was in the army as a mechanic the manual once described a job on a Chieftain tank thus ... 'this is a job requiring patience and dexterity' ... yeah right!

I thought that a job that requires patience and dexterity, would be a surgeon...!

Oh hang on now, surgeons require patients with patience.... :avatar::avatar:

    Cheers, Gary.
