Slowly but surely all teh little details will be added, including a shopping trolley ! I have some very fine mesh that I purchased at the beginning of the build, just for this purpose. I might even fold up a small box, add some handles and then after weathering, sink it !

As for the water ripple stippling, you are spot on Chris regarding flow and ripple direction. As for the adding talc to the paint, the only paint that goes on is a clear matt sealer at the very beginning. See my video on how this wagon is weathered :

I got around to weathering the other 5 x Presflos, all in various states of weathered age. Some are weathered heavier than others for variation.







I have noticed on this pic (above), that the cement doesn't quite make it to the ribs. This has now been repaired, recovered etc.

At the moment, I'm waiting on some strips of static grass and reeds to cure as I have been making some more reeds for the canal. My opinion is that there is not enough weed growth in there. By laying out a piece of 'baking paper' (no other paper will do), and squeezing a few lines of PVA, static grass (12mm) can be stood into the PVA. Allow the PVA to go off for about 5 minutes so that the static grass remains upright. A few longer lengths of Noch field grass can be plunged into this as well to vary the height of the reeds.

The excess static grass will be shaken off then they will be airbrushed a dull olive gree colour, before gluing to canal bed.

Ian, Thanks mate. What I didn't realise when I purchased the reeds, they are N scale ! The damn retailer's (Hobbyco) pricing ticket was stamped over the top ! Glad you like the wagons.

Toto, thanks mate. What is funny is that to do one wagon, as per the youtube video, it took 34 minutes. To do the remaining five, it took about 80-90 minutes ! Maybe I should do my weathering in bulk...

This afternoon after the PVA had cured thoroughly enough (warm in Sydney today), I painted the water weeds/reeds with some acrylic paint (Humbrol RC405), allowed this to dry then touch up around the base and up the stems with some el-cheapo acrylics. I made up a straw colour for this. Allowing this paint to dry, I gave them a quick squirt of acylic matt sealer to look the colour in.

This is the results...





Once all this had dried, it was time to peel them off the baking paper, cut to size and glue into the canal.





If you look close enough at the pic above, you will notice that I have stippled the surface of the PVA, after the reeds were planted. I'm happy with the way this has come up, but I still think it needs that shopping trolley !

Then again, I do have the Scalescenes 'Interior Detail' kit (TX00a), which has a dryer and a stove... They could always be thrown in (the deep end) !!

Thanks for the compliments. The first stippling was allowed to dry clear, before I added a little more. The process was repeated about 4 times overall, over a 90 minute period.

I could only find the 250ml bottles at Jaycar, but Altronics have 2L for $26.95.

I will say that the small bottle (atomiser) I have has lasted a good 18 months and it still has atleast 75ml left... But at $14.95 for that small bottle, the larger quantities do look attractive !

I have just received my invite to the 2016 Epping Model Railway Exhibition (Sydney), in June. This will be Industry Lanes' first outing.

My other layout Linden Ford, should be having it's last outing in March at the Forestville Exhibition, but then again, the organisers (North Sh ore Railway Modellers Association) have not replied as yet so I don't know if I have been accepted...
