Thanks David... sorry to respond late but I missed your comment. It is modified from one of Andrew Hartshorne's MSE kits, the cantilever post kit which I modified by making a scale 10 inch diameter round post and bracket assembly. The original MSE prefab post and gantry coupling were discarded as unsuitable for my needs, I used 6mm brass tubing for the spun steel post and reworked the bracket etches to suit, then added working trimmers and stoppers for the arm down plunger rod. It works nicely now and the next job is LED's and servos... (as I get the time of course) :avatar:.

So for a couple of hours today I turned attention to the Elton Crossing layout which desperately needs its fencing fixing, with fine jewelers wire 0.03mm soft silver threaded through the Peco concrete fence posts I got as far as the first two strands which will be pulled taunt when the wire relaxes.

And here is the wire I used.

And this is how I made the turnbuckles, simply turning the end thread several times around the straightened end of a paper clip and then cutting off.

The thing about using jewelers wire is it is soft enough to undo and remake if you're unhappy with the result. Plus you get a load of wire that doesn't cost a fortune. So it's a win win all round.:D:cool:
