I must admit, the sound loco's do sound good, especially with a good base enhanced speaker, but its best in small doses (say just two loco's ;)) :giggle:

    Paul

    PS nice loco's

Not a lot has happened on my layout as Dad has been busy with getting Industry Lane done before the exhibition. My magnets to be used for uncoupling, have arrived from China, finally. Dad ordered 100 of these as he wanted some spares just in case. I think they may be used on his layout ! :whatever: I will use about 72 of these on my layout.

    These are them.

They are 10mm long and 3mm wide. Dad thinks these are easier to install on the layout than the way he has done his magnets on his layouts. We watched a youtube video and it seems pretty easy.

    Hi Jack,

Make sure you get to them before dad. You know what he's like :whatever:

Looking forward to seeing what is next on your agenda with the layout.

    Cheers

Thanks Ian, but I think I will name my goat Dingo...! :p

The magnets are already in ready for uncoupling, but a few more need to be put in place.

We rewired my layout from dc to dcc yesterday. Dad told me that he wants to take off the point motors and replace them with wire in tube. He said it is easier with less wires.

Two wires and the droppers are better than what was there. About 40 wires were taken out and this is so much simpler... :tophat:

Good to see things moving again Jack. These baseboards look a fair old length and the wiring looks neat.

Considering all the points are within 17" of baseboard length, wire in tube is the way to go. After all, you are sitting in front of the layout to operate ! ;);)

    Cheers, Gary.

Dad fixed up the points today with wire in tube workings.

The tube has been glued to the bottom of the baseboard with the wire inside.

These are the knobs on the edge of the baseboard. The wire was bent upwards and some Plastic tube glued to the wire with a thicker tube glued over that to make a handle.

A short video of my GP40. You better turn your sound up loud as the speaker is very quiet...
