I found this photo on farcebook and thought of Toto, usually these trains are associated with seaside and southern railways, but this was photographed on the streets of Aberdeen delivering coal to the gasworks.

Plus as an added bonus its being pulled by an Andrew Barclay of the type I am scratch building!

    Cheers, Pete.

    Hi Pete,

Very nice indeed. A great photo and a nice thought.

I'm sure I have a Barclay shunter as well. It must have been great to be able to get up close and personal with these trains running through the middle of the street. Terrific.

    Thanks for posting.

    Toto

Some poor colour shots of those stored at Ferryhill about 1973.

One of the Barclays is at work somewhere, in England I think, another is in a childrens playpark in Aberdeen,IIR and some of the wagons went to an embryonic line but I cant think they will be in any serviceable state now.

It's great to see what one photo can start with Pete's photo and then Richards photos of the stored rolling stock and locos in colour

It's nice to know that at least a couple of locos survived the gas axe, hopefully one or two of the wagons may be in use somewhere, I won't hold my breath though, I have seen a lot of well intentioned projects end up being scrapped.

    Pete.
