Some out there colours for working in the gas works may be nessasry with wasp strips and all Well on at least one of the triplets
Toto wrote: Is this the theme for the new competition ? you could put wasp stripes on the cab rear, but not a lot of area on the front. I think I will be looking for name plates, and a bit of toning down the coupling rods, and slight weathering to start. Paul
Some inspiration not quite the same but close, Just a little weathered nothing that that a bit of spit n polish wont fix Attached files
Your not looking at the piccy correctly, its having a facial, a wee massage, sauna and a towel down and it'll be in fighting form. These new beauty treatments can be a be extreme Paul
I don`t think it`s a real loco.......somebody just carved one out of a big block of dried mud!!! http://www.clickGormo
Sweet little locos, And I mean that, in they have a real charm about them....very nice http://www.clickGormo
I have to wash two of them's faces and remove the evidence of a dodgy past. Nameplates to be sourced, then ready for the christening
Mentioned on my V2 thread, I've been playing with the 3D printer, I'm at the bottom of a steep learning curve. I'm using the freebie version of 123D Design by Autocad, which I'm starting to get the hang of, and feels a little more intuitive than the others I've tried. So what am I making ....... an A3...... nah, starting out easy on a back to back gauge for my O gauge wagons. The basic design is a 20mm dia cylinder 29mm high with a slot to fit over the axel, and a hole for a handle. The back to back should be 29mm +/- 0.2 for O Finescale, but is recommended to be 29 +0.1 -0.0 mm. Version 1 was printed with a 6mm slot to clear the axel, and 29.0 height, with no raft on the print. The raft tend to give a rough surface that would need cleaning up, but does make it easier to remove from the print bed. Measuring the final result gave a height of 28.85 to 28.98. The slot for the axels wasn't deep enough, and too wide, and finally the hole for the handle was too big - thats what I get for guessing So a few changes made and 46 min later Version 2, made 29.1mm - giving a final printed size of 28.95 to 29.01 I made the slot for the axel 3.8 mm - but was too narrow as Slaters wheels have a 4mm boss on the wheel where the axel and wheel meet, on the other hand the hole for the handle was spot on. The slot also still needs to be made deeper. A job for tomorrow Paul
The more you play with the machine the better the results will be. Then again, I guess its the drawings that need to be spot on to get the best out of it... ?? Cheers, Gary.
Correction to my reference to the boss on Slaters wheels - they don't have a boss it was a Dapol RTR wagon that has the boss. Version 3, increased height to 29.2mm, the slot width to 5mm, and printed out Came out at 21.05 to 21.2, but surface needed a quick clean up with a nail file, now 21.05 to 21.1 Used a piece of bamboo skewer for the handle secured with PVA and in use Both the Dapol 7 plank wagon above and my tank wagons - Slater's kits and wheels were spot on to the gauge.
