I just want to get the sizes right first! That was my initial thoughts.. but the doors do look impressive, even if I say so myself.
Let Yorkie see the sizes on a finished model so he can give me any feedback incase there is any tweaking needed.. providing I’ve not gone too thin on any materials printed. I could do with knowing if anything needs beefing up by half a mm etc.

I’d loose the door handle hole for any future doors. Allows Yorkie to decide which side he wants then as some doors are handed.

    An inventory would be good

There will be a left hand door print coming soon.

I wonder how similar these are to other company's doors and windows ?.

The trick with resin is to fill the build plate - takes the same time to print them.

Actually 3 parts - the bit you see and two rear frames to retain the glazing. - Still to be printed.

    Single window prints readied

    upload_2020-10-24_14-6-35.png

Again the pins on the rear part removed, and the glazing recess made full height to allow a single piece of glazing to be used.

    upload_2020-10-24_14-8-36.png

Just need the printers to finish the test prints for the double windows.

And then the print was completed

That's some vortex the Wash and Cure creates

Stationary the level was at 1100, then once the rotor spins up

I've set it to 6 min - 3 min in each direction.

And the windows - still on the build plate

Will set up for the single windows next

Paul there is an error on the window file. Can you look at the updated ones I’ve sent? Front window horizontals are .5mm to thin on the top to bottom, or just increase each surface by .225mm

I'll need to print thes vertically as the recesses and pin alignment holes failed to print - I kinda expected that, so a 1 and a bit hour print will change in to a several hour print.

I'm downloading the updates - cheers Andy

This could be fun - don't fancy cutting all the supports

    upload_2020-10-24_16-34-26.png

    a 7 hour print

    without supports

    upload_2020-10-24_16-44-35.png

a 6.5 hour print, I'll try both and we'll see, - i'm expecting the second one to fail and possibly detach.

This will give two of each window type

I must admit, I never thought about 1 piece of glazing instead of 2/4/6 panels..

this is where a second set of eyes gives different feedback.
    Thanks.

Wow, this has picked up some momentum since I last looked. They say arduino is witch craft and dcc is black magic. This 3D design and printing is divine intervention !

    Fantastic work chaps. :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

    Cheers, Gary.

Yes its all hands to the pump for the new Platform 1 scenic diorama Gary, you ain't seen nothing yet... just wait for all the other stuff to be made. :avatar::thumbup: A massive thank you to Dundee Paul and Mr S for their very generous input because without their specialist skills this project would not have been possible in the same way... they have yet to send me their bills :avatar:

So for my small part I've made a start on putting the rooflines together now some of the chimney stacks have been made, the exposed area showing the roof spars will be glazed as this is a top light for the Gents urinals. Andy note the blocked up window opening which is the back wall of the Staff Room, next to it is the square flat roof of the Ladies toilets, this area was once the side passageway connecting onto the five stone arches of the old part of the station which was demolished under the 1912 remodeling and expansion. Next we see the Ladies Waiting Room then the W H Smith newspaper stand and then the 1st Class Waiting Room which later became the General Waiting Room. Nextis the narrow station entrance and the section of building to the right with the offset corner is the Parcels Office and to the front is the Booking Hall and behind (partition not put in yet) is the Booking Clerks Office.

This is the platform side view and will become more apparent once the platform is built and the canopy added. Still one more chimney stack to make yet.

Once the door and window units are fitted the remaining sections of wall can have their full thicknesses built in, this will support the roof and incorporate the secret guttering and gullies... lots to do yet.

    Small update

Here are pics of the earlier versions printed direct to the print bed

Top row is the outer faces the bottom row should have recesses for the glazing and registration pins.

The first vertical print has completed, being a fail

Piccies to follow once the wash has completed

Looking at the rear frame prints, I think the framing between the panes may need enhancing to make it stand out a little better.

Now for the failed print pics

There is supposed to be 2 sets of each window single, double and tripple windows

It looks like the supports weren't thick enough, the tripples in the center seemed to have printed ok, but the bottom edge looks like it has a curve.

I will give the print without supports a go and see how it gets on, but first the FEP plate will need a full clean, and the bed levelling checked to make sure any paile print parts haven't thrown it out.

What about orientating the windows by 20 degrees, so they print from a bottom corner? Diamond shape rather than rectangle?

    No supports worked

These were printed straight from the STL files provided by Andy.

    External dimentions for Paul

The pictures are a little cruel, dut there appears tave been a glitch between the lower and upper panes, I am redoing the print to see if it reproduces, if it does then its a file issue and will need looking into. View at 1ft distance and its not noticable.
