I used a mixture of water and IPA (isopropyl alcohol) to wet the ballast, worked a treat then Seel floor polish as a glue, it works the same as pva, if you check out my layout thread Lazarus, post 18 and 29 you will see what I did. I doubt Seel is still available, though I've not checked, but if you google for similar products, there are alternatives out there.
Hope this is of interest. Pete.

Have the bubbles retreated from the retaining wall yet ?? If not, use a pin to pop the air bubbles and see if you can squeeze a small amount of PVA behind it, then press down, pushing the air back through the pin hole.
If this does not work, take a scapel and place a cut along one of the mortar lines to open the air bubble. Now squeeze in a small amount of PVA and press back down into position.

    Cheers, Gary.

    Hi All,
    Some progress to date.
I have completed two or should I say the same building twice. Scalescenes Theatre and department store.

The rubber bands are holding things in place while the glue dries.
I'm sure Scalescenes contain a hidden cognitive testing component. Its not the big stuff that gets me but some of the small things. Maybe I'm just tired. Having said that some times the instructions can be a little ambiguous - not complaining just an observation, when looking at some of the smaller components.
I am happy with the builds. I wonder if I will ever be able to build one mistake free. :scratchchin:

The buildings look good to me Cameron, nice work.:thumbs::thumbs:

So, I'm guessing one of these movies are being shown at the Odeon..., 'Run Away Train' or 'Strangers on a Train' or 'North By Northwest' or 'Murder On The Orient Express' or or 'Silver Streak' or 'Money Train' or 'Throw Momma From The Train' or perhaps one for the children, 'The Polar Express' ...?? :scratchchin:

    Cheers, Gary.

Toto, next is the scalescenes high street buildings but i may only use the fascades not the full low relief. Thinking about what to put next to the car park. Then its on to the parcels centre. While building the christmas comp layout. Nothing like a deadline to get things done.

Gary, sadly no. Although I like the north by northwest title. The movie titles are Casablanca, and ........ Alchemy - Dire Straits live. I can always paste over them later.

    Hi All,

Finally some progress. It's amazing what space open's up when your child starts school.

I have started brick papering the depot. This is based on Gary's depot in Waspen St.
The Main station building which will have a big awning (not shown) is based of a layout that inspired me years ago in Australian Model Railway Magazine (I have the digital DVD copy).

I ran out of time cutting through the brick paper. Work was called on account of dinner being served.

    I have looked at
    finishing the station buildings.

I spent today cutting out windows on label paper and sticking to acetate.

Finally found the best way of doing this.

Pity Gormo, I didnt think of your video until after I had stumbled across a workaable solution (2016, episode 24 windows - gormos shed)

I need to complete aprox 90 windows - 40 to go.

    Looking good Cameron. :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

Don't you just love cutting all those widows apertures out, only to cut out more printed windows and then stick them to clear acetate then glue this to the main structure...??

Who would have convinced you to build such a structure...?? :avatar::avatar:

    Cheers, Gary.
