    Arrived from M & M today.

Etched brass. And came with a free version of poppy's wooden inserts for the inside floor and walls worth £6.00.

    Very good. £ 31.00. I think that's a keen price. We'll impressed.

    Photos later.

These are pretty good wagons. Lots of white metal but the casts are very crisp. I've ordered another three. Half the price of others as well.

Arrived. Thought it was my J39 but no. Never mind. This will be my next bulk build once my vans are done. Make it worth while mixing a batch of paint up.

    Cheers

    and here we are

    four in total .......

a few pages of pretty good destructions ........

The white metal parts which are very crisp casts ......

The main brass frets which again, are in superb condition .....

and some laser cut timber inner side panels which come with the kit. The whole thing cost £31.00 with the poppys laser cut inner side walls having a value of £ 6.00. So £25.00 for a wagon. ..... not to be sniffed at.

    very nice.

    cheers

Nice kits Toto, must start mine soon. Re price, don’t forget you need to add the cost of wheels, decals and in some kits changing the buffers to sprung buffer sets

Yes, but you have to do that with the other brass kit manufacturers and their base models are twice the price and more.

Yes I think it is good value also... now did I read somewhere that One for the Wagon was shutting up shop or have I imagined that?

they will always come in useful even if you use them as discarded items in the sidings of Luib Bridge.

They'll fit the bill for something. Maybe one of the few slight negative points to the kit but again, considering the price point, still a complete bargain in my eyes. Who else sells kits like these at anywhere near this price and with few real compromises in quality of any note. ..... not many.

    Cheers

With all these incomplete kits you have, anyone would think you're modelling Barry Scrap Yard in O gauge !

    Cheers, Gary.

    Well,

Looks like this kit should be getting concerned as this is being revived as part of a joint build project. Dundee and myself both have one of these and will be doing a joint build over a Skype, posting up progress pictures as we go. I'm really using him to see how I'm going to tackle the dreaded white metal fittings.

I know..... I've been told by so many not to fear the white metal so ....... time to try it out. Just need to rescue it from the stash pile and clear some working space in the shed.

C'mon Dundee ....... get the digit oot. :avatar:

Wheels ordered - hopefully be here soon.

Clearing an area to be able to do the build.

    Bring it on .......

I'm dropping mumsie at Asda's in morning then in to the shed to pave the way. Tidy up a working space and look out the weapons wot I will be using as implements of torture on the kit.

Everything has been packed away ........ somewhere. :avatar: The kit itself is easy enough to locate, it will ne soldering iron, small tools and lotions and potions.

The plan of attack ..... after I have read the destruction again, start of with all the brass soldering ( higher melting temperatures ) and then move onto all the white metal last with the lower degree solder.

I am sure I will already have suitable wheels to let me complete. Probably paint as well. I have some brass buffers somewhere but whether or not they are the correct type is another matter. Transfers will need to be resourced but that will be last so no rush for them.

Just about talking myself into this. Impressive.

    Cheers

Kit looked out and a first pass over the destruction. Yorkie could have this built in a couple of hours. It will take me a weekend probably.

The underfloor structure will be the hardest part to get square and twist free ....... but ..... I shall succeed .... or is that .... suck seed. Mmmmmm

    Woo hoooool
