Now we’re “cooking with gas” as the saying goes. All appears to have been a success on the printer and I’m most happy regards this.

however, despite some parts being made with a .1mm gap for fitting, I have still had to file to get parts to fit!

and the side.. the door didn’t fit so that’s where the filing was.

    Putting the two parts together!

And the final part just finished printing. The external roof.

    that’s all for now.

Some times it doesn’t always go to plan.

when I came to remove the freshly printed roof from the bed plate it became obvious that something was wrong.

I’m pretty sure this is down to where (or where not!!) I have put my support. Although I’ve supported the very front, I left a space on the inside so there was no scaffold marks on the internal roof panels but this has had a knock on effect that I didn’t foresee.

    A4B66B5A-28AD-40D3-A80D-E6CD1EECA2C2.jpeg

as you can start to see, it’s not a square roof.. it should be!

    7FA08502-94F3-43EE-9D83-B76B923F2AA1.jpeg

the ballooning effect here is much more apparent having distorted the supports outwards and also elongated the tiles.

    F1E82AAE-BC96-4ADE-83EE-6D97BD74D7F0.jpeg
The chimney is supposed to be on a lean, that’s part of an angled print process, but as can be seen it’s done the same at the back which has then put a curve in to the bottom of the chimneys brick work…

with luck, I think I know what has caused this error, so it’s back to the redraw and go again.

    Otherwise I was quite pleased

For some reason, the second attempt at the roof also failed. But for a different reason.
As can be seen, something went awry. :bleep6::faint:

So that went in the bin also and it’s try V3 at a different angle tomorrow with a variation on supports.
    Oh well..

    Hi Andy,

That looks like a nightmare to support, I loved the banana shaped chimney from the first attempt. If you wanted one that shape I bet you couldn't do it.
Best of luck with go three.

Looks ok so far…time to remove it and clean up.

Yep, that’s looking better. No distortion.

let’s remove the support scaffold and see what we have … I’m excited!!

not quite sure what’s happened round the chimney, but we can live with that. 7E04DE46-887D-4F21-9AA6-0BDD3CEF28ED.jpeg
    Pleased with this! :hammer:

Next up with this box was the commission of some wooden LMS pWay huts.

These are what Simon requested from me with the first two pictures below supplied by himself.
    83C95C83-3D2D-4E93-BE33-F8F2BE481139.jpeg 070BD3ED-FBFD-40E2-849D-6E1B64D90D97.jpeg

    Not too difficult…
So here we go.. the chimney is optional as not all of them had them.

    73ABBAFD-FD3A-4DCF-BB83-09E89E701B56.jpeg
    And the finishing details….

the padlock is 1.3mm tall.. I have no idea if it will come out!!!:scratchchin:o_O

they are on the printer now, so more tomorrow.

Oh dear oh dear.. I wonder if I’ve had something in the resin ??

    90EB29B2-F787-4E8D-AAA2-7AB0F582B488.jpeg
this first one seems to have a nick in on all the way through where it’s missed a panel.

    2DDE3015-61BF-4295-A667-6532B1AFB680.jpeg

And this one has missed half the shed leaving the window exposed. I’ve also lost a chimney… which may be what’s gone wrong..

One of the three so far appears to have worked..
may get a rework on this before V2

The signal box is now done, bar just a little bit of file work to make one slightly oversized part fit.
Hopefully I can get it in front of a rattle can soon to put some protection on before it goes to the new owner for painting.

I think next time I may do the chimney separate. In fact, if it wasn’t that the roof still extents around it (as seen above) I’d have done it as part of the base unit all in one.

right, back to finalise the PWay huts.

Now, rather than waste it, I decided to use the damaged p-way hut as a trial. Just to see how everything came out, and other than the missing slice/print, I’m happy with the outcome. The shutters are obviously just laid on rather than stuck in place… but give you the feel.

See how it looks after some paint.

Ps. The roof hasn’t been fettled yet and only on loose!

And the LMS PWay huts have also been done and sent.

Even kept one for myself and started painting. Excuse the scruffy paint work. This is what happens when I don’t put my glasses on! ED6CF24C-FD94-4086-914E-D201B98AAA08.jpeg

Sadly that’s now been dispatched so it will be down to the owner to send me some photos! (I’m sure he will! I’ll be disappointed if he didn’t!) and I’ll make sure they follow up here!
