Will be putting some pics up tomorrow showing the modern scene here in the West Country. I'll add to it as any fresh stuff is taken.
Here are the pictures. I'm sorry but we don't get an awful lot of variation down here so no doubt, over time, the majority will be of Class 43, Voyagers, Super Voyagers, Class 150's, Class 153's and anything else that happens along including Engineering stuff. We do at last have a regular Freight Service, The Moorswater Cement, which will no doubt add a spice of variety. Pics of tomorrow the new Hitachi units coming once I've sorted them. It (they) went through Plymouth today
Here are the Hitachi pics. They were all taken at Plymouth North Road Station as the test train was returning back to London. The consist was of two 5 car units No 800003 (Queen Victoria at the front and Queen Elizabeth at the rear) and No. 800004 (Isambard Kingdom Brunel at the front and Sir Daniel Gooch at the rear). Sorry they may be a bit dodgy. I didn't know it was running until I saw it on the local news so had to rush down to the trackside to get them. The train arrives on Platform 5 at Plymouth North Road having travelled up from Penzance. 800003 leading Leaving Plymouth North Road About to enter Mutley Tunnel 800003 Queen Victoria front end detail The jointing of the two units (800003 Queen Eliabeth II and 800004 Isambard Kingdom Brunel) N0. 80i0004 Sir Daniel Gooch bringing up the rear. This was a great looking train and I can't wait till they are in service. It's Plymouth Model Rail tomorrow so will be there with the camera and record anything interesting. More later.
Sorry no pics of this one as I didn't know it was happening until it was too late but yesterday GB Railfrieght Class 66/7 No 66775 was in Devonport Dockyard to recieve the name of HMS Argyll. It had been specially painted for the occasion. After the ceremony it returned to Eastleigh, so keep your eyes open. There are a few vids of it before and after on Youtube so I'll post the urls later. I seem to have neglected this post lately but will rectify it over the weekend as I have a lot of stuff to go up. Tomorrow I'm over to the SDR for the Diesel Gala Weekend with a Class 17 (Clayton) and Class 08 'Laira Diesel Depot') as guest engines. Also have some other interesting bits and pieces from around the region to put up so bear with me.
