Development work has started on the re-tooling of these kits.

On the previous kits users had difficulty in stopping the front window frames from warping when being soldered together.
To overcome this we are testing a one piece front end, and here are a couple of pics of the prototypes for the Class 21

    Class 29

Further work on has been done to refine the waistline, and have the Class 29 headcode box open, allowing it to be lit if required.

I will post more once the final designs have been completed.

On the original test build of the NBL Class 21 I did last year it was noticeable just how delicate the cabside brass etches actually were, this was in order to achieve a near as accurate looking cab profile shape as mechanically possible particularly in the windscreen corner post areas, even another manufacturer of a previous line of diesel kits now reintroduced didn't manage to get the cab quite correct. I am reliably informed that this new one piece resin cab front follows the original NBL drawing specs to the letter. In its original form the Class 21 was an enjoyable kit to build so this uprated Highlander Models one is going to be even better since the bogie frame design has also been drastically reworked. Toto wasn't wrong when he says its all hand on the pump.

Those front ends look great, well done.:thumbs::thumbs:

Can I ask about window glazing. Will South Eastern Finecast or Shawplan have flush glaze kits for these ?

    Cheers, Gary.

Hopefully, there will be precut Glazing bits included - depends if I can get the plotter cutter to cut them - no way you would trust me with a scalpel, another job in progress :whatever:
