    Hi All,

was doing some work on the layout adding in some additional feeder wires (which went well, no burns this time :D ), powered up the booster and plugged in my PowerCab and had 3649 help me test out how well the feeder placement went (it went well).

I then turned to trying a different loco and when I went to select it my display seemed to only half refresh to the new display while the other half remained on the old display (menu only printed on half the screen) the only way it seems to have been able to clear this is to disconnect and reconnect the controller or just simply run through the menu repeatedly till it cleared.

Has anyone else had this issue, could it be my unit has died? or perhaps the power supply (only outputs 4.2amp not 5amp (old Laptop power-pack)) is the culprit?

Any and all help is appreciated, hope your all doing well.

    cheers,

    Wombat.

Not seen that one, but have seen things like this if the power supply is not up to spec. It might be worth checking the volts and amp drop on the PSU when the units are plugged in

I think I'd be looking at getting a proper transformer. Using the laptop one will probably void any warranty if you try to get things fixed if necessary.

I run with NCE controllers, both power cab and pro cab and have never had any issues. Sorry I can't be of any further help.

    Thanks lads,

I wouldnt think the slightly lower Amps would be an issue given that its the right Voltage (Just assumed it would mean I have to run less loco's.

I will do a factory reset on the command station and try it on the original power supply that came with out, if this resolves it, its possibly something wrong with the booster (?) and ill do further troubleshooting. Not sure why a slightly lower amp would effect the display output on the controller.

I'll let you know how it goes regardless.

    Cheers,

    Wombat.

    Update: -

tried the powercab on its own with its own Powersupply, worked fine, tried it back on the booster, the red light was flashing quickly indicating it had lost its cab (?) did a factory reset on it and set it into booster only mode seemed to not be doing the odd behavior again, but will need to do further testing after Hockey tonight.

    Cheers,

    Wombat.

    Hi All just an update.

I got in touch with NCE and they indicated that the issue is to do with the eprom on the booster, I have reached out to MRRC and they have burnt me a new EPROM and its in the mail.

This should fix the issue, Just wanted to give people an answer to this, If you don't hear again from me on this issue assume its fixed :)

    Cheers,

    Wombat.
