Thanks Ralph. Need to finish the incline electrics off next so that I can start the lower track level http://www.click
A flying visit to Perth tonight courtesy of work, but unfortunately not enough time to visit the mighty Lord Street or it's extension. Perhaps next time.
Cheers Gary and Dan.The final parts of the jigsaw are coming together slowly but surely. Today's task was to get the high level station board attached to the branch line board which will then be finished off before the lower 900 x 2m board is assembled and fitted into place.so here's today's efforts..... Station board at high level....lots of work here to finish off. side beams postioned to show where the new lower level board will go... this beam will form a new small board, just for scenic work in front of the curved embankment board. Cheers Ralph, aka "Frogman" for your help Kim
The station board is looking great. It's coming together really nicely now. I'll have to get over again to see it.
Hi Kimbo,Your layout build is amazing... that is a super space you have to work in and everything is looking so well planned. I can see those Hymeks banking trains up that single line now.http://www.click Paul
No worries Ralph, my pleasure, looking forward to my next headache !! Cheers Steve, look forward to your visit, might get you working on the scenery Hi Paul, "planned", you should see the room an hour before the photograph . No idea what I'm going to build on the .9x2m board. If you have read my thread, this area was designed for anyone who would like to build an O gauge board no larger than those dimension as above, which they could bring along when they visited and we would just swap them over. Ralph has the first board made .6 x 1.8m, with the track laid so I will use his end of board tracks as a reference on to my existing board and lay my trackwork to suit...if that makes any sense. I have a nice plan for the scenic board on the outside of the elevated curve section which will be revealed in good time Kim
Kim, my next trip down, will bring a full box of pain killers for you before you start how's that !!!!, SO Be Prepared
After fitting Ralph's New Black 5 with a Zimo MX 696 sound decoder last week, it was time to let it loose on the extension and see what it could handle........
Great videos Kim , really like the Black 5 and the train was fantastic, it seemed to be making the loco work hard!! Excellent sound. Cheer's, Pete.
Those videos are super great Kimbo, I just don't know how you have managed to achieve so much layout build in such a short timehttp://www.click the bark of the Black 5 whistle is spot on and that new extension is brilliant... also I'm loving that nice long rake of 16 tonners.. Hats off to you dude and congrats on a top job. Cheers for now Paul
CHEERS LADS http://www.click Great little running session with Ralph. He was like a dog with two tails, very happy little puppy. Now he just needs to line and number the locomotive and then apply the weathering Ron, yes it is a very nice whistle, there's three different one's on the file to use, know doubt there will be another video to show off all the different sounds. Gary, Pete, She was working hard at the end, in fact if the loco stopped on the curve she would not pull off with out some help. This has a lot to do with the Darstaed tankers and well wagons which are very heavy. I would think the Black 5 would pull 50 normal RTR wagons around my curved track work and a lot more on straight tracks with very large curves, but at the end of the day 20 wagons makes for a nice looking train and fits the layout nicely. I Need to get the coaches built now so that we can see her pulling 4 or 5 around the layout. Steve, I think you will like it even more when you see it on your next visit Paul, thanks for the kind comments. The problem is focusing on finish things off now, these little distractions stop all modelling but they are a great distraction. The other thing with these "testing" and filming sessions is it shows up all the errors on the track work. There's a couple of "lumps" that need sorting out on one of the board joints and the dreaded ballasting needs finishing off and weathering , signal box roof, bridge to complete.........Time to make a list !!!
Nothing like a video or closeup photo to highlight the little things that we normally don't see. Kimbo wrote:
