I have one in OO scale but can't find one in O Gauge that does not require you to install your own flashy thing. Anybody know where I can get one ? Cheers Toto
Here's one option, just need to add a flashing blue led.. http://www.sceneryexpress.com/O-Scale-Welders-Accessories/productinfo/WD2748/ LED can be found at:- http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/5mm-flashing-blue-led-n65aj http://www.click Kim
One thing to keep in mind with a welding scene is the realism of the welding light. At the Thornleigh Exhibition here recently there were quite a few welding scenes. The most effective were ones that had the light being quite random, as in real world welding, rather than just blinking like a flashing LED. I spent most of friday and half of saturday welding up rigs to allow us to laser scan the top arch of the Sydney Harbour Bridge (that's going to be another story), and the welding is not a constant flashing it is very random. There are kits out there that might do that. Someone may know the best one. Cheers Tony
I knew they did one - MERG Pocket money kit No. 8 for the princely sum of £1.50 It even has welding after glow - you know when Toto welds his hand to the metal
I'll take a closer look Paul. They would need to be pretty simple to construct though if I were to build them. toto
Arc welding simulator arrived from Layouts4U this morning. Dinky wee thing. I'll post up a photo later. Cheers Toto

Sorry Pete, I missed that, yes you do need to be a member, however it works out very good value for money. In addition to the great value kits, the technical information and resource plus forums are also available to allow a bodger like me to progress and build and design some of my own ideas. Paul
There's this alternative DIY version. http://www.brian-lambert.co.uk/Electrical%20page%202.html#Electronics (Scroll down a page) Ed
Looks really good ed. I wonder how the circuit board is being hidden ? A bit of careful positioning I suspect. Cheers Toto
