    Hi Bob,
It looks fine from the photos thank you for posting them. The track we use is Peco flexible nickel silver very easy to make curves We have it laid on our garden railway it weather's the same as main line track and looks like the real thing. Not sure if you can purchase Peco track in Australia.I don't know of any other companies off hand.
Whatever you are building its still looking good hope everything turns out as planned as its always on going with things being added.
    You take care speak soon.
    Regards,
    Gloria.

Hi Gloria, I am in Australia not Outer Mongolia. :>)
    But thanks for the thought.
Peco has been readily available here almost as long as it has in the UK.
    All the track is Peco.

There are many companies who produce HO track and couple of others in O i.e. Atlas, Lenz and Micro Engineering.
    cheers
    Bob

    Hi Bob,
Thank you for your reply, Sorry i didn't mean to offend you. That's good to know that you can purchase Peco Track as I wasn't sure what was available to you in Australia. Please keep posting your photos as I am always interested in other people's builds.
    Kindest regards,
    Gloria.

Hi Gloria, no need for apologies, I was not offended, just had a good laugh.
The dog seemed to have trouble finding the layout under the snow??? :>)
Large scale is certainly more suited to the rigors of the great outdoors.
I did have an experimental G1 layout outdoors many years ago but abandoned it when I went away to work.
If you want to see more of my work have a look at my thread on RMWeb. Too much to repeat here.
    cheers
    Bob

    Hi Bob,
Thank you for that glad you were not offended, didn't realise you had snow down under. I used to be a member of RMWeb under the name of GWRGirl as I worked on the railway late 50s early 60s..I will see if i can rejoin that group again and have a look at your railway. Many thanks for the information.
    Kindest regards,
    Gloria.

We try to keep the cold weather a secret unless you are coming for the ski season. :>)

The ETS 30 class came with plain, not fluted, rods. I have corrected that with some styrene strips.

    Snow, Australia...??
Don't go telling them that. We want the northerners to think that we are as tuff as nails and stand the heat when it is turned up to 45*C !! :avatar::avatar:

On another note, the layout is looking good Bob. Are the buildings made of styrene ??

    Cheers, Gary.

Hi Gary, all the buildings are styrene, however not having any styrene or metal corrugate in stock I am using some cardboard from the $2 shop for the roofs.
It is bonded with lots of solvent to the styrene shell and is having a few coats of shellac applied before the paint job.
The corrugated card is closer to S scale than 7mm (and was what I used when modelling in that scale) but I think looks acceptable.
How long the corrugate will last outdoors remains to be seen, however the existing styrene buildings have lasted now for 7 years.
    cheers

Managed to get a bit further with the buildings.
Sorting out an r/c issue with a friends plane took away some modelling time but i finally got back to the job.

I have been working on this loco on and off for many years. A much modified 3-rail era type kit.

Today it was lined, lettered and coaled. Still a long, long way to go.

It is based on a Ron Fox NSWGR 59 class.

The FEPV underfloor detail is complete now, just got to add the steps.
I am making them out of cardboard as it is more likely to survive the inevitable derailment than thin styrene.

The HO track does get used.
Here it is being used yesterday afternoon to test a friends 44 class that was misbehaving.
