My build so far. ( 7 meter long X 600 mm ) build in Garage, still plenty room for chariot !!! Dexion legs with 30 x 30 wood attached and 6mm rubber feet Frame work 20mm board screwed on 3mm MDF back boards, painted both sides prevent warp/twisting ( good Idea Chris) Beading at top to help brackets support 400mm wide shelf for lights to fit under Boards also ready to lay 5/6mm hardish foam. Looking very sturdy indeed. Dexion is very useful, and strong. I picked up a stack once from a council clean up and now it supports the old slot car set in the garage, much the same as you have done.
