    Been trying the “modern image” PAA wagons. Slight issue. I have 9 so far for a full rake of 15....

    I can only fit 5 in the loop. :facepalm:

    Next... some new trees, fix the signal box down... point rodding and renovate some of the details.

    There is also a thought of extending the whole layout and making it a circuit when installed in the loft... integrating Oakamoor as a single track through... so a main line can run and the yard be shunted at the same time (if only to give my son some interest and add variety to what’s run.

    Nice one Andy and a great development plan too :thumbs: in the real loops you could run round 45 at Oaky and Leekbrook.

    45? 5H17 the bed! That’s a BIG loop! Mind you, part of the idea is to lengthen (and add a another siding in the fiddle yard) the trains. It may make Alex think more about his shunting if he has to split a train and remove a guardsvan.

    I’m not sure the extra boards will be scenic... then again... who knows! :scratchchin:

    Sadly having the chance to depart either way will make it less like Oakamoor, but it still has some features... well, at least you could depart the correct way. Although I could elongate the current two lines (loop and headhunt) on the new board and then you run in like the real place but mirror image. (Front to back)

    No single slip though. :scratchchin::scratchchin::)

    A new board (extension) has commenced. There will be more on this as it progresses. It will mainly be a loop extension for the existing track plan, but still toying with the idea of access to one of the sidings via a single slip. Eventually it will be extended around the loft to form a full circle so we can run a train rather than just keep dropping the loco off and shunting.

    Here it is letting the glue dry. It’s all 5mm ply, 10inch board width. The front and back have a strip (4.5cm deep) glued to the them on the inside to rest the deck on, there is a timber brace between them at either end. There is a little overlap to aid stability and interlocking.
