I was recently commissioned for a new 4mm scale signal box, but it was something different to my usual NSR lines, and this was to be a GWR Type 28B box, all timber and only 2 sided roof.

here are some early renders so far.. it’s still a work in progress before we look to print it.

The last shot is the locking room. The customer will arrange there own interior..

however, another new thing for me is the internal stairs!

    regards

click to open in current browser. Should take you to a 3D navigable model..

If it doesn’t work, here are a few model photos. Printing should begin next week.
I’ve refined the windows. Added the roof vents (not sure how close they are?) and added a simple name board. This will be tweaked on version 2. Also added since the last post is the small window to the rear of the box.

It was all looking so well..

I was pretty pleased with this (first full depth box all timber, all my previous boxes had been two halves with a brick lower half)

Even happy with the very fine name plate!

    but alas…

it appears that the back bit failed right from the word go on the supports and progressed from there.

    oh well, we’ll try again.
