I noted in the trade section of the last GOG Gazette that Omen Miniatures had brought out a pack of 20 legless, seated passengers designed to fit in coaches where leg room may be an issue for £30. I am just about to embark upon a Kirk twin art for the gent that I built the last couple for and having seen the advert, suggested that he consider them. He was happy to go ahead so I contacted Nigel Smith via the website because I couldn't find them on the site. Nigel advised that they were a new product and would be in the Reading catalogue this weekend. He gave me instructions on how to buy and I duly ordered a set. Despite obviously preparing for Reading Nigel still made time to put them in the post for me (I only made payment on Wed evening) and they arrived this morning. Great service, well packed and nicely cast, good value at £1.50 per figure I thought.
Hi Rob, They look nicely detailed. Are they plastic or white metal. I'd imagine plastic for the price. Cheers Toto
Hi Toto, They are resin castings. Omen do White metal castings too, if fact I bought a crew for the J6 as part of the same order. They were more expensive coming in at £3.50 and £4.00 each - the fireman costing an additional 50p because his shovel comes as a separate casting.
Hi Toto, Sorry, they aren't on yet but they may be next week. I emailed Nigel Smith who told me how to order them. Nigel will have been at Reading show today but if you drop him an email on Monday I am sure that he will respond promptly.
Definitely a superior offering at a reasonable price. I will look out for them when I build the couple of coaches I have in stock. Pete.
