That one little bit of tape makes a big difference
So you won’t be needing the helicoptor photos for inspiration then on a repaint

Also pulled back the green stripes a little - may need to harden up the green edge

In that case I think a coat of matt varnish to stop my grubby fingers doing any damage

Just wondering about the gun shield. Does it stay in place while the barrel moves or do they both move.

    It's looking good.
Should have (still can) use my TIP401 and put a third colour on? Could help cover any bits you don't like on the the current two.
Here is a demo of more than two.

    Hi Jim

Currently the shield is free moving (read it's not glued yet). The gun is glued to the mount, so doesn't move, which is probably just as well, it it moved and caught the side of another Bridges Trestles there would be some what of a mess.

    Ian & Pete,

I will start on the figures, but not sure if I will use them, there is quite a difference in height between the 1:48 and 1:43 figures

From the photos, it looks like a two tone livery, thanks for the links, it's been a nice distraction while the paint dries. I also have a bottle of maskol unfortunately it's somewhere safe along with my reels Tamiya masking tape

Having a nightmare sourcing Letters, tried to do it by hand - looked like it had been vandalised.

Letraset may be my next course.

    So back to modelling

Thinning the walls down has made the cover a little looser, and the holes will need opening out but.....

With a bit of clean up they should be OK.

Time for bed - I think

More cleaning up and applied a bit of filler, then more cleaning ...........

Now a coat of humbrol matt grey, 4 axle boxes, 10 mins max - 1 hour later, I finally found the first box I dropped on the floor during painting. Just as well as I was about to go and print another 4.

Just need to wait for the glue to dry before fitting boxes to the other side.

Bonus tho, while spening an hour looking for the other axle box, I did find the missing buffer head (no sign of the spring or retainer.
