Hi this is my new venture into modelling a larger layout. As you all know me for my micro diorama modelling.
This is going to be a working photo plank, the size is 60cms x 20cms . Plenty of space to add a single point.
The theme of the layout is going to be built around my collection of EWS locos and wagons.
I have added a picture of my baseboard.;)

    Cheers, Pete.

Ian thanks for the encouraging words, I'm looking forward to the build.
Pete I'm doing a lot of planning before I start to lay any track. I'm going to add a hard standing for my EWS diesel locos.

Hi this morning I have added the main supports for the embankment area of the layout.
The track has been put in place loosely to show where the track will be finally laid. I need to add a small length of track where the rail buffer stop will be placed.
I have uploaded a couple of pics of my progress.:)

Morning, last night I managed to start laying cardboard in later to form the main structure of the embankment. I'm happy with the way it's taking shape.

Little bit of an update today. The structure of the embankment is now complete.
Tomorrow work will continue on the embankment by adding layers of kitchen roll and PVA glue to form the shape of the embankment. I like this better than plaster cloth.
Today I received a buffer stop kit which will be added to the layout once it's built, painted and weathered.
But for now a couple of pictures.

I'm happy with the progress on the embankment. This morning I have completed adding the kitchen roll and pva glue to the embankment area. This now will need a good 24 hours to dry hard, then paint.
    Here are a few pics.

Paul thanks for the kind comments. I'm waiting for some 2mm plasticard to arrive so I can start modelling the concrete slabbed area.
This is where a Knightwing portacabin kit will be situated.

This morning I have completed the hard standing area of the layout. This is where the portacabin will be sited.
I'm pleased with the concrete affect which I modelled by stippling. Today I will concentrate on weathering the rails and sleepers.

Today I have been concentrating on the main relay box of the layout today. Painting and weathering has been completed, once it's in position some weathering powders will be added.
I'm happy with the look of the relay box.
