Great video and information regarding your layout Daniel. I do like the deck you have knocked up, very nice, great weathering !:thumbs::thumbs:

    Cheers, Gary.

Today's finished project is an Ex-Savannah and Atlanta, Ex-Central of Georgia, now Southern cuppola caboose. It is made from a Williams kit that I picked up from Jason Dickie's American O Scale stall at Seaboard Southern exhibition in 2018. It came without couplers, trucks, or detail parts. It was literally just a chassis casting and a body. I filed off the cast on plastic handrails, and have added new ones made from brass florists wire. I then constructed new ends from styrene and more brass wire. It's then been painted and Microscale HO scale decals added as that's about all I could manage to find that was suitable. It's not an exact match for the prototype but it's as close an approximation as I can manage. :)

Now it just needs weathering and glazing added.

    Good morning everyone [IMG]

Nothing much in terms of progress for now, instead here are some overall layout photos to show where I've gotten to so far.

Last night's progress saw the Dunwich building grow by three storeys, and the brick and stone warehouse get a backdrop flat behind it, representing the rear of a hotel. Still some more to do to blend those into the backscene, but that will come once all the backdrop flats are finished, so it can be done all at once. :)

Looking good Dan. As usual it all starts with the track work being right. I have promised myself if I ever do another shunting plank I will start with handlaid track.
    cheers

Thanks Bob. Handlaid track is definitely going to be my go-to for any long term project now. It just looks so much better. To be honest I wish I'd added tie plates to the track on PB, but I guess you live and learn. I'll be adding them on the next project I work on, for sure. :)

I really hope this doesn't break the forum formatting!

After a long hiatus, I am back working on PB. A gentleman on the Facebook page requested a track plan, and so I've made a bit of a collage picture of the layout from above. It's a bit messy but it's the best I can do for now. :)

This week I've been doing a number of small jobs to tick them off the list. :)

Firstly, I've added wooden bumpers around the fabricators loading dock:

I've also been working on the team track, adding a few details such as this break area for the workers:

And the above ground details for the underground fuel storage tank, though these are bare bones at the moment:

I wanted these to hide the baseboard joint somewhat. I think it will do the job when it's finished. :)

I've also managed to get another piece of the backscene done, which means the last board has been turned around and the layout is now joined up fully. :)

I've shortened the garage in the back corner and have added a coal dealer building I'd built a long while ago but had nowhere to put it on the layout.

I also finally received a 1967 Chevrolet Impala I ordered from eBay a few months ago. It's a couple of years out as PB is set in 1965, but I'm a big fan of the Supernatural TV show and just had to have "Baby" on the layout. :)

Here's a few close up shots of the modified area around the garage:

Good to see you back on the layout again Daniel. It's looking pretty good mate. Those buildings in the 'modified area' look the ants pants.:thumbs::thumbs:

    Cheers, Gary.
