Having had one of this makers 4mm laser cut 'builder boxes' for several years now, I've found it a very useful aid to chassis building, so (if I can get my backside in gear and make a start!) as I'm moving into 0 gauge and have a couple of 7mm loco kits to build, I bought one of the above, which is large enough to accommodate the "Merchant Navy" kit I have, and also the Connoisseur 02 kit. I only ordered this kit on Saturday last, by cheque as the proprietor only accepts cheques or bank transfer, but the box arrived yesterday, service which other small businesses might take an example from!
    Anyway, this is the kit.

........and these are the components in the pack. The small rectangular part is just a spacer to be used for assembly, it's not actually part of the functioning box. I'll be using PVA to glue this together.

Here's what it looks like assembled. The axles are part of the kit, also a pair of 'non-slip' self adhesive strips for the underside of the box. As yet, I've not fitted these as I plan to give the whole box a coat of clear varnish. Reason for this is that the instructions (2 sides of A4) point out that certain types of oil from axles etc may eventually cause the wood to deteriorate, so hopefully this will avoid that problem. If I were planning on building quite a number of 0 gauge loco's then I may have considered extra cost of one of the available (and much more expensive) metal chassis jigs, but I've found the 4mm version has enabled me to build quite a number of loco's with no problem or deterioration of the box itself, so personally I'd rather put any extra cash towards loco's/rolling stock rather than a more expensive jig that I can't really justify.

I should have given mine a coat of varnish as well. Good idea.

Had these been available back when I bought my chassis jig I would probably have done the same Keith.
