    First the good news

I ordered this via the ebay shop, probably just as well as you will see later in the post.

And got my grubby paws on it today.

Two versions (or styles) are available Style 1 with heat resistant silicone strips on the clamps, and Style 2 with foam pads for clamping Plastic models.

    Holding Clamp O Gauge Mk2

The parts are clamped so that they align over the hole in the Alluminium base which allows any solvent to drain through - instructions suggest having a piece of blotting paper below the jig.

A simple idea that works well.

And the downside, is if you fancy one at the moment, try the site first and if you get the following message

try and get it from ebay

Still to order one ..... but I'll wait now. To me , any tool that can help make things easier, especially freeing up your hands, has got to be worth it.

I have several specialist clamps etc and although they are not an everyday go to tool, when you do have the occasion to use it, they are a blessing.

The silicone pads may be an worthwhile upgrade for me as well.
