Thanks Gary now I see how these modules work its off to the design board to work up what I need... just another question while I'm here how thick are the overlays such as the upright columns used to conceal the wall panel joints?

The overlays are about 1.4 - 1.5mm thick. The roof apex pieces are the same thickness so extra card is need to strengthen those up. I purchased the overlays as large sheets and cut off what I needed, as I will use the excess as platform wall facing.

    Cheers, Gary.

Excellent build Gary. Did you spray the paint on or brush it in. It's always a bit of a risk losing the definition if it goes on too thick.

It was all done by brush. I have used the Citadel acrylics on this and I find they give good coverage, even when thinned done a tad.

    Cheers, Gary.

Last weekend I laid out a circle of Lima O gauge set track from a set I purchased a few years back. I found with the radii of track that the Jinty ran faultlessly, but the Pannier derailed. The radii of the track is just too short for the Panniers wheel base, so I will not be using the set track as a guide for Peco flex track.

Instead I used the set track curves as a radius guide and set the track further out, creating a larger radius. This works fine with my Pannier now.

Set track to the right and the flex track is corked and glued to the baseboard. I will follow up with a short video soon.

    Cheers, Gary.

Yes for the purpose of the test I am running DC. I like to test run in DC to meke sure there are no faults in my wiring. On the weekend I purchased a few Lais decoders from Chris to eventually install on my locomotives.

    Cheers, Gary.

Great couple of videos Gary :tophat:.
The pannier is a lovely model, I've always liked the look of them even though I have been an LNER man at heart.

    Cheer's, Pete.

It is good to get a locomotive running as I have been a bit slow in the layout build of late. Getting a loco running will inspire me to push on to the next step. Decoder install or scenery... Actually, I need to paint the track on the piece I laid the other night first !

    Cheers, Gary.

Thanks Kevin, I think having a running session with Chris on the weekend got me to pull my finger out !

York Paul, yes, it's about time I got my act together and moved along some !

Pete, when I saw the price of the Panniers when Hattons had there sale on, I couldn't resist ! Personally, I should have bought a Terrier being a preferred SR man !! ;)

    Cheers, Gary.

    Nice work Gary!

How long is it and will you be able to put it in the car?
The usual wire in tube point operation?

Thank you Toto, Gormo and Cameron.

Cameron, the layout breaks down to three 1515 x 520mm long boards (roughly 59 1/2" x 20 1/2"). The fiddle yard will be about the same size and will come off the layout where that curve is at the far end or seen in my first video above. My little Astra wagon will carry a 2100mm (7') plank no worries at all, so this with it's cunning stackability, it will be easy to handle and manoeuvre.

Now I just got to work out how to stack them cunningly... :avatar::avatar:

Yes, the points are wire in tube, the usual method. Not a real lot can go wrong with this method ! ;);)

    Cheers, Gary.
