Sentinal 100hp steam loco

    So one of the locomotives I've always wanted is an lner Y1 or Y3 sentinel shunted and as they are quite rare to pick but in the livery I wanted thought I would have a bash at making one I'll be using the triang dock shunted as a base and scratch building the rest below are a few pictures of what an afternoon some plastic card sheet some super glue and a few pictures can produce

    Hi,

    I noticed your post popped up twice so I have deleted one of them.

    So roof is finished and all windows cut now to decide if it's a Y1 or Y3 the only difference is the number of louver panels (air vents) the Y1 has two on the end where as the Y3 has an additional panel either side

    Hi Paul yes I to like the Y9 and looking at converting a hornby Pug in to a Y9 with dumb buffers next quite an easy conversion from what I've seen originally built in Scotland for the North British the same design was used buy the Caledonian railway with some minor detail differences

    And dont forget the wagon / tender - helps with pickups as well.

    Yes was looking at that and think I have a 4 plank wagon I can use as a donor

    So only a small amount of work today waiting on the lover panels which have been cut on my dads cammio cutter so added the window guards near the coal area

    Hi working from a mixture of drawings and photos it's coming along just a few little bits to do then paint and real coal to be added

    Very interesting build there and slot of inspiration will need to look in to it after this build

    Thought I best up date this as well the sentinel has all but been completed just coal to add but a very nice little loco I feel amazing what can be accomplished on a tight budget
