A slight revision to the track plan, the first point will now lead to a siding as it’s to tight to get a curve off it leading to the back road, my big steam locos would struggle to get round it.
The slaters brick sheets arrived and have been cut to size, the mammoth task of painting them will be the next job but not today! To much rain!
I won’t worry about making the joints between the sheets to neat as I will cover them with butressss as seen on the lower part of my signal
    Box only full height.

Timber tracks Parcel office / bike shed arrived today, Bike shed and stores on this layout! I’ve built it up and it’s now in the base brick colour, this will harden off on the radiator this evening.
The retaining wall sheets now have all 3 shades picked out. Mortar next

The lamp stores now has its roof and the rest of the slaters brick sheets have been glued in place.
Im also working on an extension to the layout,
    F01F80D6-3AF0-4978-8E0B-541715F7ACA0.jpeg
This will be on the opposite side of the room and will consist of a low relief 4 road shed only the rear end, Coaling stage and 70’ diameter turn table. My old 65’ deck couldn’t turn a Princess or Duchess, both of which I would like to add to my collection.

Really moving at a pace with the new build Steve Great to see you must be really enjoying it.
Are you planning to do a loop outside the shed to join the two sides or will they come together at exhibition only ???

Unfortunately there’s no room for a loop out side unless I buy the neighbours garden!!
They will be the same layout just in two halves.
Although the layout could be moved I’m not looking at exhibiting this one it will really just be my home layout with the Riviera line being the Exhibition layout.

Just catching up Steve, first with the demise of one layout, and now the phoenix out of the ashes, great work so far

Congrats on POTW, please excuse the heavy cropping of your image, but as a backscene, how else can I say other than "it's a cracker"

Nice picture of 70019 Lightning there Steve  ... I'll let you into a little secret (but don't tell anyone :avatar:) I've been secretly getting on with 70010 Owen Glendower this last few weeks as I've had spare time, in fact I'm seriously thinking of getting another Britannia from Scorpio. Anyway what a great layout this is going to be ... I'm certainly following this project with interest.:tophat::tophat::tophat: Take care as you go underneath those boards and just stay careful with your back now mate.

Great stuff, I shall look forward to seeing progress on your Brit,
I’m tempted by another maybe Shooting Star, Two Brits and evening star would definitely give a Cantonesque Feel to the layout! 735AD6B2-D5C5-4548-81D3-9C13B2D02AE3.png F7156AE9-32C0-4FF5-8762-3F658686132B.png The good thing about the width of these boards is there will be very little need to go under them, just fitting point motors and wiring up the signals oh and the the track.
Talking of track my flexi arrived from C&L and the first few lengths have been glued in place. I’ve also started weathering the lamp stores.
The turnouts are being drawn up in templot over the next few weeks.
As there’s only one on the back of the shed side progress will be quicker. Hopefully a few more building kits should be with me soon

I’ve had some prints done of my previous model rail articles, I’ll get them framed at some point , I’ve also glued and screwed a section of ply in place, this will be one of the inspection pits, I’ll do this one the same way I did the pits on canton.

I'm taking photos which I'll post up soon but right now I've quite a few builds going on simultaneously which need completion, however so far the loco frames are built and wheeled with coupling rods rotating freely, the bogie and rear truck is also assembled so once I've fitted the slidebars I'll paint the frames for final assembly. I'll paint the BR Standard 4 at the same time which is also at the same stage.
