With some models placed to see if it all fit and works as a plan, it seems to so next step will be to put some holes in for point motors and get down to track work. This OO stuff seems so small :avatar::avatar:

That another way at looking at the size variation.

When you model in a scale for a while it just seems normal then you go and do a smaller one and it is hard to get use too it say for fitting buildings in etc.

And the fact the plan fits means I did something right :giggle:
Haven't stuck my one down yet what did you glue it down with?? PVA
I may end up cutting out the track section only I have decided that I'm not going to have the track raised on cork as I want it to be mostly just rails in the grot so the less building up I need to do the better. It's going to be fun filling in the track

PVA can be used. I used a cheap can of spray glue, the same glue that I used on Jack's plank.

It is easier to glue the whole track plan down rather than cutting it out. As you are aware, there are markings to help line up the individual pages that you have printed. I planned my track on 100mm squares (setting on Anyrail), which also helps lining it up on the baseboard.

    Cheers, Gary.

I like the plan Chris, and I am in awe of your mastery of Anyrail in such a short time, I drew up a track plan in O scale, saved it then couldn,t find it again, when I got it back from One Drive whatever that is, could I heck as like get the plan to upload to Platform 1, so I have given it up, I will stick to pen and paper in future.
Sticking your plan down, personally I wouldn,t use pva, it makes the paper wrinkle up and doesn,t lay flat, when I stuck my backscene on I used wallpaper overlap paste, ready mixed in a tube, sticks like :bleep6: to a blanket, and no wrinkles .

I've got a can of spray glue that I'm going to use like Gary suggested I've trimmed the sheets of any excess so should go down ok

As far as Anyrail goes Im still not very good at it, just and it an only just, getting better I was getting close to throwing the mouse as things didn't do what I wanted, then I discovered "layers" seems to the the clue to getting it to work, do every different part as a layer, track first, then each item you put on top like trees, the boxes that represent the structures etc, then lock the layer and that stops you accidentally moving parts as you try to get other parts in order.

It was a bit like this little guy :headbanger: :giggle:

To get an image to upload I saved as a jpeg image, file extension placed it in the photo folder and the just used uploaded as per a normal photo

...and don't forget you can save the file in documents or downloads as an Anyrail file. This way you can go back into it and make any necessary adjustments.

    Cheers, Gary.

It's been a while since I've been able to get to the plank
So whilst waiting for some parts for other jobs on the workbench I got some time to put the track on the plank tonight
With the Anyrail plan stuck down the track was positioned and amazingly it all fitted I marked the position for the point throw holes and drilled them, then down went the points and track it's all well used possibly some has been on 6-7 layouts but as most of the track is intended to be filled to atleast above sleeper level like you see around Collierys with black grunge the condition of the sleepers wasn't a worry.

Of course with any new track plan, it must be tested to make sure it ticks all the boxes

Are you building the plank as a DC or a DCC layout ??

Going to do it as a DC / DCC with it switchable Gary so I can test any new DC items split the down the middle with as two districts and will put some isolating switches for the shed roads for in DC model I've got boxes of switches so it's not to much extra work to do it that way most of the time it will be one or two loco in steam

    Sorry no movement yet
And re getting it wired up well didn't get to it, a delivery of spares had arrived when I got home and I have been busily putting all the bits into the models on the bench just finished the last one now a classic brass 32 full chassis rebuild, new motor tender bogies rebuilt and lots of the detail parts refitted fix the DCC sound install, and touched up the paint work.
The model arrived in several Chinese containers as a basket case of parts. Big test run on the club layout tomorrow.:thumbup::thumbup:

Been away for a while so I,m just catching up with things, re- your in filling the trackwork with gungy black muck, if you have any caravan owning friends see if they have carbon filled water filters, they recommend them to be changed annually, the contents are small black grains of carbon, great for collierys and loco sheds, goods yards etc.

    Cheers, Pete.

Hi Chris, I,ve been thinking, dangerous I know! but anyway, carbon is conductive  so I reckon not putting it between the rails may be a good idea, so long as it cannot touch the rails or dropper wires it should be safe for ground cover .

    Cheers, Pete.

So was at the Hobby shop today, they had the Skaledale Headstock Version 2 with the mine shaft building it really shouts coal mine and has an impressive size and lends it self to some mods to have the poppet head wheels turning for a bit of animation
Did I say I have gone to N scale well it looks like it in the photo below but no it's still OO.
And that's the latest very "Shiny" the DJ models RM NCB No65
