Nothing brings on a big tidy-up like a house move, and as everything electronic seems to come with an ethernet cable, from PCs to routers, I had at the last count four of these things, only ever used [TMK] when setting up new kit, and totally universal. Just as I was about to consign the three shortest to the bin I thought I'd look at the cable...result? Four pairs of very fine flexible cable that looks just the job for low-current applications like wiring LEDs as unobtrusively as possible, etc. So, some SLW tokens saved for the next illuminated model, when ever that will appear! For wiring jobs that need conductors just a little larger, I use 6 core burglar alarm cable, stripping out conductors as required. A 100 metre drum cost me £12 a few months ago, so that's 100 metres each of red/black/ yellow/white/green/blue colours. It's also handy if, like me, you use 'Seep' point motors, the 'PM1' version having a set of changeover contacts, so you only use 1 6 core cable to feed the point motor, and have a set of changeover contacts back at the control panel to use for (in my case) colour light signal switching......saves a lot of wiring!
