Hello pete, thanks for your reply. I have given it much thought and tea drinking with a friend of mine who's helped in the past and i am 99% sure i will keep all my stock and go with the option of reducing the layouts length. regards Alan
to all my fans and followers, just to let you know i have taken the steps needed to shorten my layout and keep plodding on and hopefully will see the results in a while. pics will be posted regards alan
Here are 2 pics of the track remodelling on the board which has been used to shorten my layout to 19ft x8ft. there now will only be 3 boards with scenery at the front. point motors and wiring to be done plus a bit of fettling on the board joints. all comments welcome.
Hi Alan. Nothing posted recently? Hopefully you are still progressing? I've had stuff in boxes in the loft for nigh on 40 years and they are all coming out now and getting dusted down and pressed into service, so never dispose of anything. Yes there are some bits and bobs I need to get rid of, mainly odd things Hornby used to make as a bit of a gimmick, or where a part has slipped through the bottom of the storage box during one of my 10 plus house moves! Hi Alan, Welcome to our group, love your model of Southall, I was stationed there once upon a time and stayed in the hostel, not sure if its there any more and used go to the pub The Three Tuns. Also to The Broadway for shopping. Had a happy time there. Regards, Gloria.
