Coal stage built and planted with real coal just scenics to do then paint track etc... musy be tinto time Attached files
Some scenics done more detailing to do (fill the pond) before track painting and ballasting ... the Shepherd Ivor Fleece is the point controller Attached files
Ever onwards and upwards... ? ... anyway a small amount of progress today I've completed some more scenic work. The point control wire has now got a handle in the form of a straw bin in the horse paddock when it's all dry I'll detail the worn grass around it and the pond. Still waiting for my new backscene to arrive which will give it depth I think... wow layouts almost 50% complete. (sorry about the sideways picture) Photo sorted Ian
More progress on my first half of the layout today whilst up on my roof train room. Track now painted weathered and ballasted so some pictures of that tomorrow... next job I get to test run engines! ... in the mean time... Attached files
That's not a fair photo Ian, blue sky and sunshine! Both of which are in very short supply here at the moment!!! Layout's looking good though! Cheers Ron
As promised a few pictures of St Michael (nee San Miguel) after track painting and ballasting. Attached files
And finally... once the track is tested it just awaits my new back scene and I can move on to the other half of the layout. Attached files
Great! the new back scene arrived along with 2 x r/h points so cam start on the other half of my layout ... watch this space! Ian
looking great Ian, Do you have enough room to get a loco past a wagon in the coopers siding? It looks pretty squeezy. Nice ballasting and track dirtying BTW. Marty
Thanks for the encouragement Toto/Marty yes it is a bit tight but I tested it with my J72 and 27XX and it just works. Due to the requirement to have a double storage track behind Coopers I was down to mm (the whole width of the layout just over 24cm) but then I figured if they can get 70cl in a narrow bottle of tinto then .....!
