Now under way with Jon Fitness is this rather tall bracket signal, based on a real signal that still stands at Craven Arms, this will be planted between the signal box and Holloway tunnel.

The Holloway tunnel end is back home with me, The signal box has been glued in place, an order is in with ModelU for some point rodding stool bases and then I can get the sand down and start on ballasting, The signal mans allotment base has been made up with used Intentio 2 bolt hole sleepers and some line side equipment boxes glued in place, the large Craven Arms bracket signal is currently under construction with Jon Fitness.

 

the main line track is now complete and work can start on the Torcombe branch

 

The trees have spread along the top of Holloway tunnel and the veg plot looks to be well filled

 

I love to photograph my models in the sun! You get such a good perspective on colours and contrasts.
I’m quite confident in saying this layout is going to be my best so far and there’s a long way to go yet.

 

A little track weathering today and the point rodding has been added

 

The lower section has been permanently fixed in place this evening and I’ve started to blend the sections together with a base of backing plaster and I’ve also added the retaining wall in
Most of this area will be grass covered except the lower right which will remain exposed rock with another small water fall.

 

I’ve bedded Teignton lane bridge in place this evening and plastered the road surface in place, here’s how the man planted forest will look once complete, I like the fact that the trains will disappear behind them which will encourage the viewer to move around the layout. Do I have enough trees ??
No I don’t! am I happy with how this layout is progressing, Yes very much so.

Real Mini spruce trees arrived today. A new supplier for me and I’ll definitely be having more

 

The signalman looks on in disbelief as that 45 only arrived today and it’s already dirty!
It’s been a warm day so spraying paint dries nice and quick. With this one as much as I put on I took back off and with it the printed BR late crest which was a bonus as I’ve not seen a printed one on a RTR model I like so a replacement set from Fox have been added instead. I’ll let this harden off over night and do a little more tomorrow before I give it a waft of sealant, Severnmill plates on order for her. She will become 4561 of Newton abbot shed. It’s a lovely model and better now the toy like sheen and silver rimmed wheels have gone. Bodes very well for the STd 3 tank to follow
