I hereby announce my nomination for President of the United States of America.
Sorry, wrong forum. I'll start again.
I hereby announce my intention to build a plank layout to enter in the Townstreet Competition. I'm also hoping that it will be presentable enough to exhibit at the Sydney AMRA show later this year. I will need to speak to you Gary to get the details on how to go about that.
Anyway I have an idea for a very simple setup with the focus being more on the scenery than on the railway. I'm working on the idea of the railway running through the layout rather than being the layout, if that makes sense.
I'm going back to my family heritage with this one. If I get it right it should conjure up memories and images of a childhood in the 60s.
I will of course post some drawings and photos of what I'm planning as soon as I have them. In the mean time it's back to St James's Station and the wiring of lights on the layout. It's nearly done and looking great. Photos will up later on the St James's thread.
    Cheers Steve.

The trap is working. I've laid the bait and now the foxes are sniffing around. If this plan were any more cunning I could stick a tail on it and call it a weasel.

Hi Steve the AMRA show at Liverpool is all set as far as I know for this year, the floor plan was released last week along with the Exhibitor's list will have to be next Year's show gives you plenty of time to get it detailed.
May be we should all attend the June long weekend show next year at the brick pit.

You could possibly contact the organisers and offer your new layout as a stand in in case some one has to pull out.

Unfortunately not Pete. I have spoken with the Exhibition Manager on Friday afternoon and all the exhibitor and trade stands have been locked in. I have offered Steve a position as operator on my layout during the weekend.

Steve and I have spoken about possibly getting a few P1MRC layouts together for exhibiting next year.

    Cheers, Gary.

Well thanks Marty. As it happens I'm typing this from the hotel in Perth. You should get in in contact with Kimbo (Lord St Depot) ,on here and hook up with the Perth Crew from Platform 1 sometime. Great bunch of guys.
I've got some big ideas for this plank thingy, let's see if I can make them a reality.
Was that too Masterchefish? Yeah I think it was actually.......

Hi Chris, I've just sent Gary a message but am wondering if maybe we could build a Sydney based Platform 1 exhibition layout. We each have a board that we link to each other that creates one larger layout. The track design would be such that they can operate on their own or together. This is how Torrington on RMweb was built and it was a very successful layout that toured the UK.
Obviously it wouldn't happen this year, but maybe for next year's shows.

    Cheers Stev

I think that's the easiest, given that that's what we all have now.
