Pauls been busy today, he’s just sent me pictures of his efforts.....well done Paul.

Working platforms were originally a green colour according to photos that Paul has, although they didn’t stay that colour for long, so I think he will be weathering them down a little.

platforms had a access point half way down the platform to save having to walk to either end to gain access to the lower level and the pit.

    37 posed

bottom of steps still to be trimmed for the final fit

Cheers Andy....I think the next few sessions will see this really come to life, all of the pieces / materials, are there now but not necessarily in the right order :)

That last photo is very atmospheric. Taken from a nice stance. Excellent work guys.

What other loco types do you guys envisage running on Stratford ? You have a great range so far.

Shush ....don’t mention this to anyone......”I will say this only once” when it’s built, I’m taking my steam loco stock over for some proper running videos :avatar::avatar:

Paul has a mixed bag of Paraffin burners, but he has apparently a fetish for 37’s , what ever they might be :avatar:
Perhaps he’ll join the thread and tell us :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

I know a man in North Wales who is constantly weathering Heljan Class 37 loco's... I think he did a couple of 08's once and a 33 but mainly they are 37's in all their guises.:avatar::avatar:

Managed to add some paint to the side windows of the shed today

as you may have spotted we have drilled out all the fixing holes ready to attach to the main arches of the building, plus 2 strips of angle at the bottom to give support to the walls as well as fixing points to the layout.
Great progress Paul, now if only the wire hand rails were finished :scratchchin::avatar::thumbs:

Helping Paul out today, he left the front of shed B with me yesterday so that I could start the “concrete” overlays onto the clear plastic sheet.

Today’s efforts saw the three of us complete the over head gantry lighting bars and also install the hidden lighting under each platform.
Over head lights are LED’s on a roll installed in 12mm channel. Hanging bars are simply made from cut sections of railing , which are installed into pre drilled holes in the arched frames and finally glued in.
So next session will be to wire up all the lights and test them, in the mean time Paul has to paint the side platforms ( I stuffed up the measuring on the last one, last week) glue down the centre three platforms to the supports, finish the brickwork and install 4 sections of angle in each corner, ready to accept the front and rear elevations once I’ve completed them (still waiting for a plasticard order from the uk).

Note that none of the above lighting bars will really be visible when the front elevation is installed.

Also Note the red corner sections added to the supports, quite prominent in photos of the shed. There’s more detailing to add to these pillars over the coming weeks.

Steps are all completed and painted and I’ve finally finished all 20 hand railings, these just need priming and painting red....
So that’s all for this week folks !
