Toto, here are the two drawings I promised, sorry they are 24's instead but anyway interesting as information needless to say.
I really had to look just to get what a Sulzer Type 2 is - the world of railways went into Cryostasis in 1948 here in Wakefield, Didn't you get the memo
Sorry Rob no I didn't get it. I do like the early and first generation diesels, we had most of what were latterly known as Class 24 loco's at Stoke the last one ( I think) being 24089 lasted in service right up until 1976. They were good engines rated at 1160 hp ... in many ways a better engine than the later 1250 turbo Class 25, they were deemed obsolete because of their BTH traction motors and that much of the type 2 mixed traffic work had gone by the mid 1970's. Somewhere I have a picture I took as a trainee about 1974 of 5054 (24054) taken at Endon on the 8F32 Oakamoor Warrington Widnes sand pulling 45 hoppers and tipplers plus barrier van and 20 ton brake... not bad for a single machine, the driver was Arthur Pepper of Biddulph Moor.
