    Well,

They are coming thick and fast ....

This is a competition for the OO scale modellers amongst us.

It's open to everyone provided they model in OO scale so mods are allowed in this one.

The only restricting factor may be that you will need a computer or at least access to one. Whichever suits.

The competition is for the design of a track plan with the stipulation that " Anyrail " the widely available software is used.

Please note that a purchase of this software is not necessary are there are free downloads available for anybody to use. The restricting factor in the free download is that you are limited to 50 pieces of track ........ but .... on little trick is that the straight sections are adjustable in length so can help out to enlarge your overall footprint / plan if used correctly.

The scope of the competition is to design an interesting track plan utilising as much of the software as you can. It should incorporate some kind of overall them ...... say a goods yard or a station ... or whatever.

The software allows you to drop shapes into your design and again adjust the size and shape of these to provide a crude outline of a building plan etc to assist in demonstrating what your aerial shot is intended to demonstrate.

There will be one winner only and they will win eight assorted packs of Peco OO scale points ...... hence the title of the competiton.

I will announce shortly the exact point configurations that will be awarded.

    The usual rules

All your own work although if you want to seek some pointers on the use of the software from other members etc ..... you can feel free. It really is not too difficult ..... put it this way ...... I can do it.

You must post up your thread registering your Intention to take part.

Progress posts with pictures must be posted up on a regular basis.

For example ..... toto Platform 1 2022 points make prizes competition entry ...... in the correct competition forum.

Any questions can be posted up here on this forum thread.

This competition can commence now and will end the last Sunday in July 2022.

    Any questions ...... fire away

I might have a go......I have just downloaded the Anyrail software.
I use Linux, but can run some Windows programs via WINE on Linux. It seems to be working, so all I have to do is learn how to use it.

Here is a link to Anyrail 6, both free down load and you can purchase the full package (Licensed product) from here too : https://www.anyrail.com/en/download

As Toto will tell you, I have been using this for quite some time. I find it one of the best track planning programs out there. I was impressed with the 'freebie' that I bought the licensed product !

    Cheers, Gary.

As with myself. I have the full blown product and have spent goodness knows how many hours on it. Gary was the go to man for me in the early days. He still commands a far superior grasp of it than me ...... he just doesn't get quite as many ..... hellllllllllp requests these days ....... bet he is glad. :avatar:

A very good programme and worth the investment if you like to tinker with layout plans.

Planned all my railway with AnyRail 4 to 5, it was well worth buying when you consider how few sets of points it equates to.

You can create all your own buildings if you wish to get that custom look. I used my own designs for all the cement works buildings many of which were kit bashed Walthers.

I'm a very satisfied and fussy user, so why not download the freebie version and win yourself some pointwork :)
