    Hi All,

Does anyone remember or know where I could find out what the LNER P2 2-82s sounded like?
    To explain:-
Those of you who have read my recent threads on availability and use of TTS Chips will know that I think them a good deal!
I am now thinking of using them in types of loco other than those they are designated for.

Thinking about the LNER P2 chip made me wonder what sound source was used as there are no P"s around and I doubt if their sound was recorded pre war?

I am wondering if, as the P2s were rebuilt to A2 4-6-2s, Hornby used A2 60532 (but this has double blast pipe?)
If so I could use the P2 chip in my Bachmann 60532?
Or might I do better with the A1 chip?
Which loco does the A2 sound most like?

I started this thread in the DCC Sound area but thought LNER enthusiasts here might have information.

    Best regards
    Paul

    Hi Paul
I had a quick look through the pathe films as often find Railway films in their but no luck with one that shows a P2 with sound that is any good

With a new build P2 on the way it will only be a mater of time before we can have a authentic recording of a P2
Until then I think any of the A1 recordings may have to do 2022 looks like the earliest in optimistic terms that the new build P2 May enter service.
