Hi everyone, Now I have the photo thingy sorted out, I thought I would share some photos of my recent trip to Cowra. Cowra is a country town in NSW that is south of Bathurst and South West of Canberra - sort of (it was the first stop on way to Dubbo when I lived in Canberra - google earth will show you where it is). My dutes for the week end was to be the Kabana boy for the bridesmaides at the wedding of very close friend of my wife and I. While they had to endure make up etc. I had 3 hours spare to run around cowra for as long as my iPhone battery held out. Here are some shots: For the O gauge modellers do you go to this level of detail?? Some D truck (not sure if they were s trucks) detail There are a lot more photo's in my gallery if you want to have a look. I have some photo's of the undercarriage of the 30 class loco and all the gear. There is also a shot of an old steam breakdown crane. I though some of our scratchbuilders might be interested. If you want some photo's please feel free to download them or send me a message and I can arrange to put them in dropbox. Chris - I have some more photo's of the gear under the greyhound car that I don't think I sent you. If you want the unshrunk photo's, let me know and I can put them on a memory stick for you. I have a walk around of cowra station which I haven't uploaded all of those photo's I will keep the photo's linked to this post in my gallery, but at some point I will delete the other photo's from my gallery to create space. Cheers Cameron
Cameron as you noted via a message on the day you found a RG car RG = Racing Grayhound for the non NSWGR Modellers A model can be seen on my layout in the back platform. Yes please Cameron re the photos in full size As there were several RG’s and I plan on doing a much more detailed one eventually
Thanks Cameron For anyone resident in reasonable proximity to Cowra, (and that includes anyone within a 500 km radius)it is of course the home of Lachlan Valley RPS and a real group of preservation devotees. A long weekend away would be well rewarded, They are a devoted group of preservationists and I can assure you you can chat for hours if the better half allows. Unlike the commercialisation of Thirlemere, and like Goulburn, they are still capable of showing you around the place without worrying about if you may trip over the odd bit of sleeper or so. Go there and you will love it. Cheers Richard
Thanks Cameron I hope you did not blink as you were passing through? I have a lot of updates for Dargan but am waiting just a little longer until the new site settles down and I get used to my new photo equipment. Cheers Richard
Great photos Cameron, you asked if anyone went to the detail of fitting toilets in their coaches. I think Mr Pulham of this parish has gone to similar lengths with his builds, no one else can see it but you have the satisfaction of knowing it's there! Cheer's, Pete.
Nice set of pics Cameron. I will have to get out there myself one day. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Gary.
