Over the past couple of years, I've been slowly working on a 2EPB, in original Tyneside condition.

The basic body shells have been mostly completed, with the sides awaiting the door handles, etc adding and the roof awiaiting the various cables and pipework. The underframe has yet to be started.

The current stumbling block has been the cab front. The Replica MLV cabs represent the standard 1951 BR(S) EMU cab, the Tyneside EPB has a rather different cab front. I have been meaning to draw an etch to replace the entire front of the cab, but have yet to get around to this, lacking suitable detailed drawings to give the correct dimensions of the route and destination displays (5 lights in a domino pattern in the middle and a double height destination blind at the top).

I don't have the model to hand, so don't have much in the way of photos of the current progress, but have a photo of it sat on the DEMU stand at Warley in 2019.

The above shows it sat on a Replica motorised chassis, with no other underframe details yet added, and the correct bogies not yet fitted.
