Heads up on new releases coming post Telford...

Firstly I've decided to reintroduce the complete Brass range with some new tooling along the way. This will not include the Class 15 and Co Bo however.

As a second range I'll be adding around 10 -12 one piece resin body kits which will include the Co Bo and D600 along with a Class 23 (Baby Deltic). Now there will be duplication here which will give modellers an option which I think is a good thing.

An example of this will be the Class 26 and 27 which will be available both in Resin and in Brass. This will be started the week after Telford for an intended December release.

In Gauge 1 (1:32nd) 10800 will be released around end October (I hope) with a 15 and 24 to follow, then the big one. A Class 22 in Gauge 3.

MK2 Coaches on hold at the moment - more news on those later.

That's great Steve. I think the 26 / 27's could certainly be popular. The new tooling on the brass range, what differences do you envisage there ?

    Will do guys.

The re-tooling is just on some of the castings to try and clean them up a bit.

Material arrived today to cast the BR Crew Van I've been working on. Here's a 3d image testing the various fit of the parts etc. Hopefully something in Model form Wed/Thursday.

Looking very nice Steve, making the Chassis, wheels, cab and crew cab as separate items would allow you to make alternative variations for the rear.

Having a version with just a box with pull down rear door would make a Rail Express Parcels delivery van, large logo in a white box.

Agree with York Paul, a basic chassis cab would allow different variations to be built, personally I'd go for a flat bed/low drop side.

Yes that's part of the plan. Chassis/Cab as separate kit. Those moulds are curing as I post.

    And finally:

I could have spent more time cleaning up the castings and my lining out still required me to enhance the image in Paint, but not too bad. Crew Van body being cast this afternoon to cure over night.

As if to re-enforce what a toilet week it's been when I finally got the body to cast I noticed the wheel base was incorrect. New chassis required. Oh well, wasn't overly happy with the first one anyway.

Adjusted the mock up but it's still out.

At Last! With the aid of some filler and an image manipulation program, here's the Crew Van.

Now This was the first trail run and I've changed a fair bit since then. The chassis is now in two parts so two wheel bases can be accommodated, 89.5mm For the crew Van and the shorter 77.9mm for a flat bed etc. This meant a new mould but works better. A basic interior of Food cupboard, Baby Belling, Floor, Bulkhead and some seats are also included.

With regard to kit prep' and QC I mate the three parts of the cab, (Floor pan, lower and upper half) together before packing and do give the body a good sand over. There will still be some imperfections but I've reflected this in the price.

Instructions are a simple leaflet with the kit, but a more comprehensive manual is now being written and this will be available via email.

I think those casting lines could be run out with stopper once the raw plastic has been primed.

I am as impressed with the shed, as much as the engine! In fact I am not sure its not a real pic and the car has been photoshoped in!
