Those who had very little to enrich their past lives may remember I once had a layout called 'Bear's End' which aired on another forum. One country move and two house moves in the past 2years have seen me finally start another, the 'Bear' is re-born. I'll try to add bits and pieces as I go along, but to start, my baseboard. I have a 7ft-6" X 9ft-6" romm that's all mine....MINE I tell you.... and I have put a cantilevered baseboard on steel channel brackets and going halfway round the room. I have wasted months trying to find a way of getting a roundy-go-round into a room with a door in the corner without a 'duck-under' and have finally swallowed my pride and intend a terminus to fiddleyard layout to start with. As time and funds permit I can use the other half of the room. So, as a start, some pictures of my baseboards, made from 2" X 1" joinery grade timber, joined by 100mm X 3mm screws and laminations of 3mm strips of the same material as I do not want 'square' corners. I'll include a couple of detail pictures in case anyone else wants a heads-up on how to tackle this comparatively simple way of making something a little different. Well, there we are, and if things don't change, they'll stay as they are. Oh! Did you hear about the newly-weds who didn't know the difference between Vaseline and Putty? . . . . . . .....All their windows fell out... Poop-poop, Douglas
The man has no limits, very impressive work at both 4mm to the ft and 12 inch to the foot Glad you can get back in the habit so to say. Paul
Nice work Douglas, I am impressed. The roundy conundrum was the same thing I faced a while ago. I settled for a terminus to the fiddle yard. I came to the conclussion, the older you get, the less dignified it becomes crawling under a duck under. Kind regards Geoff
Nice restart with the new layout build Love the timber work that āsā curve is a work of art more often seen in high end furniture than a model railway baseboard nice work
Wow what a great start Chubber the carpentry is superb so I think we have something impressive to look forward to in your new layout build.
