Well my first shiney attack of 2016 arrived from China - not as sexy as Toto's. 0.1" right angle connectors and 0.1" terminal blocks These will allow me to have proper connectors on my arduino based accy decoders. Our lord and master, has given me another job, so back to the cutting mat and hope to report more later. Paul
Today was spent working on a scalescene low relief warehouse kit. Needs details adding now, but will be used as part of the front end of the parcels depot. Those interested in the build thread Simple Card Kit Paul
I think you should be doing master classes in these kits Paul. great result. Now ....... the overall station roof and main entrance building ....... you'll have them rattled up in a couple of nights....... Carry on ............ Matron.
G`day Paul, That`s scrubbed up really nice. I have one of those downloaded as a future build and I didn`t realize how good it could look. Well done!!!. http://www.click Gormo
How about an interior for the warehouse... Found this image (part of) on google : Warehouse Interior Stock Photos http://www.123rf.com/search.php?word=warehouse+interior&start=200&searchopts=&itemsperpage=100&sti=n97eoi86mnkwsp3hdb| Cheers, Gary.
Cheers guy's I'm thinking of using it as a loading bay area for what will become the Parcels depot, using a combination of the factory / warehouse kit and the large station kit. Then start that overall roof Paul
Don't stop there... Scalescenes has a plethora of town buildings to add to Victoria Road... Cheers, Gary.
I still wonder at the fact that someone who hates building buildings (me) decided to make a layout based in a city center, that must have been some seriously strong coffee being drunkl that evening. Ah well, fresh set of blades all round and get ready to start again. Paul
As Toto p[ointed out, I need to start on the bigger buildings, so this is the target area The front retaining wall needs trimming to size, the front siding needs extending into what will becom a parcels building. A retaining wall needs to be built by platform 1, to provide the support for an overall roof, which will blend into a larger roof at the end of the layout to suggest a much larger terminus station. Front retaining wall now trimmed and support wall for the overall roof started, waiting for the varnish to dry before adding butresses and header courses as pr the other retaining walls and platforms. Paul
Looking good batman. Let the build commence. Looking forward to your great creativeness setting the heather alight here. No pressure then. Cheers Toto
Small update Butresses and sess added to the platform side Glue is still drying. Model Railway Scenery Drains, plus a mix of coffee grounds, granite chippings and woodland scenics fine grey ballast sprinkled onto 50/50 pva water mix. Not fixed in place yet but this is what it should look like. Now to start the other side of the wall..... Paul
Cheers Guys Playing with the Scalescenes Goods shed kit for the upper level...... More tomorrow I think Paul
Great stuff Paul. Hope the spaghetti supplies are holding out. I'm looking forward to this build. Somebody else brave enough to take on that overall roof. ....... Bring it on. Cheers Toto
Yes Paul, That`s coming along very nicely.......I thought Toto would volunteer to build an overall roof???? http://www.click Gormo
