Yes, even though it is GWR. I'd have thought other shunters wagons would have been made up of a similar idea. whatever was spare and lying around up for grabs.

    cheers

    Hi Rob,

they are very simple units to put together. Once I realised and understood how it worked I was surprised at how easy they are. I think they sell them as a seperate item which I think would be quite easy to adapt to other builds.

    cheers

On the subject of WEP GWR kits, I do have one of them.

During WWI the war department built 9 transverse gas tank wagons to a GWR Cordon design and a pair of them were subsequently acquired by the Great Eastern Railway. They were ultimately transferred to the North eastern Area of the LNER.

The other kit that I may buy at some point is the WEP GWR Grain van. This is because the first grain vans that the LNER had were to a GWR design before they started to build their own. This is very much a back burner project because Chris doesn't like the look of the WEP Grain van and I do have three of Jim's GER examples to build first.

Returning briefly to the subject of shunting poles I found some better photos of the ones that I made

They were made from cocktail sticks, the shafts off some brass pins that I had used the heads for rivets and some half etched nickel that was in the spares box.

Night off tonight. Preparing myself for return to work tomorrow ....... chilling out with a beer and getting ready for the onslaught of sub-contractors chasing me for cash again. Oh the Joy's. :avatar:

Back in production mode tomorrow night.

    Cheers
