    Hi Toto,
Thank you for the welcome. I was with your group before known as GWRgirl.Been having problems with computers. Had to sign up under my new name. I have changed direction with my railway and have gone over to a larger scale 16mm Locos 32mm track garden railway. We have put it on YouTube called The Pasty & Serpentine Light Railway. I am not sure if you cover this scale or not, but thought I would mention it and all my N Gauge Rolling Stock Locos Wagons & Coaches is all up for sale sorry to say, the reason being my eyesight has deteriorated now and N Gauge is so small for me now.
May I wish you belated Happy New Year.
    Regards,
    Gloria,

Hi Gloria, great to have you back with us.

We are happy to have all scales on here so fear not. The more diverse, the better. Sorry to hear of the necessity to give up n scale but I'm sure you will enjoy modelling in your new scale. It will be every bit as enjoyable I'm sure.

Happy New year and I look forward to following your journey on the forum.

    Cheers

    Toto

    Hi Gloria, and welcome back.

I know the feeling well for gauge & scale change, as I have moved up to O gauge from 4mm, though I never could see N it was always too small for me.

I am struggling to come to terms of Pasty and light in the same sentence :avatar:, but you never know with all this healthy eating malarky.

Looking forward to seeing the results of your empire building.

    Paul

    Hi Paul,
Thank you for your reply. I was a member of the group before , as I explained to Toto having problems with computers i rejoined today under my new name. My old name was GWRGirl. The Light Railway is based on the Welsh Highland Railway loco and Rolling stock are replicas of that this is where light comes in and pasties are a famous Cornish dish Serpentine is a Cornish stone made into artefacts jewellery lighthouses hitch is highly polished.that is how we named our railway. Also we go to village country shows and rallies with a portable railwayfor demonstration purposes as its live steam , radio controlled we also run electric as well which is battery operated with radio control. In the past we spoke a lot about different things especially DCC.
As Toto I wish you a belated Happy New Year and hope 2019 will be a good one for you.
    My kindest regards,
    Gloria.

Hi there Gloria and welcome back to the forum from East Yorkshire :welcome::hismiley:. I remember you posting here before I became a mod and I've watched the video tour of your garden railway... that little white doggie jumping over in front of the train is really cute. :tophat:

    regards,
    York Paul

    Hi Gloria
I had a similar revelation when I realized I had G Scale eyes and HO trains.
I now model 45mm gauge which unfortunately is on hold till I move mid year and will be starting a new layout.
I have some LGB locos and some Bachmann Spectrum 1:20.3 plus a bit of scratchbuilt rolling stock.
Great to see another large scale railway on here. :welcome:
I think we may be in the minority but I have been reassured that our kind are welcome. :handshake: :avatar:

    Welcome back Gloria,

A new direction with your modelling is always welcome. As you are aware, there are members here who dabble in several different scales and gauges. The techniques are all the same but the track and trains change in size. Reading about your eyesight issue, a chap I know in the US has decided to model N gauge and he is blind in one eye and deteriorating vision with the other. He believes that with his N scale models, he does not have to worry about the little, finer details that we pick up on with the larger scales !

Looking forward to reading updates on your railway.

    Cheers, Gary.

    Hi Gary,
Thank you ever so much Toto has told me they accept all different gauges now, which is lovely. Our railway is on YouTube called The Pasty & Serpentine Light Railway the video is just a demonstration of what can be achieved in a small garden.Like everything else its still on going as bits being kept added. I am in the midst of building a carriage shed just trying to find a way of finishing it.For the last 2 years we went to Peterborough garden railway show we are off to it again in April hoping to display a battery powered 0-6-0 loco with radio control it is built on a Roundhouse chassis kit which I built my partner built the body from plasti card and a sound system fitted as well ,its not quite finished when it is I will put a photo up for everyone to see it is our own design .My partner is building a live steam loco from scratch a Brazil hoping to take that as its boiler needs testing.
If you are ever down this way Please let me know as everyone is made welcome.
    Regards,
    Gloria.

Just also to mention if anyone is interested my partner is co-ordinator for the Cornwall Group I am her assistant for checking emails and different things associated with writing, we belong to the 16mm Garden Railway Association and trying to get more interest down this way if we can which can be difficult being an awkward County to travel around especially summertime with congested roads.
