Is there a worm hole in Redfern that we don't know about? I've heard of outsourcing but this goes a bit far????
Great publicity adgency This was probaly linked to a Bollywood film shoot at the carriage works precinct and they may have used the railway as a back drop for part of a Movie / song performance It's a long time ago anyway when the 38 was out shopped in the Grey livery My be a quick way to get the 3801 running again out source the labour though the quality my be questionable then again can't be any worse than the bodged job the German boiler manufacture did or the poor state of management of the locomotive by those concerned Attached files
I'm reading about Jamalpur in a so-so novel called Night Train to Jamalpur. So I searched for photos and came up with this dodgy one.

paul_l wrote: sorry that gray livery is not for me or many others. I remember standing on the platform as it rolled into Steamfest the platform was full of kids waiting for the big Green 3801 and this Gray Nurse rolls in there were kids asking parents where was 3801, one kid said Mum I wanted a ride on 3801 "tears rolling" and his mum was saying I think this is it and the little tracker loudly proclaimed (loud enough for every one to hear even above the noise of the loco) that it want 3801 because it isn't "Green" and he wasn't riding it, as he was dragged by his mum into the carriage. it's all in the colour for most little trackers the number on the side means nothing. PS yes have had a really slack week or two achieved nothing for my self especially not a repaint on a loco
Last time I looked, Eveleigh workshops were still in Redfern. Has the NSW government sold off yet another asset?
