Where is everybody on this forum? It has been going for nearly 24 hours now since the changeover. The only two people other than the Admin team who seem to have posted anything are Sol and me. I have made lots of posts about the problems and how to get past them, but if you are not here you maybe can't see what I wrote.

If you are on a mobile phone it looks blank but it isn't. Just scroll a long long way down and it is all there.

On a lot of things, such as the Members list and the PMs Inbox, you have to scroll to the bottom of the side pictures to get there. The same if you click on the pictures in the Media.

If you just type in Platform1mrc.com it says Sorry no good. What you have to do is click the link from google, which is link from google.

If you are still using the link from last week which is last week's link it says xenforo not available, but it is. Use the google link instead. Ken.

    HI Ken,
There are still issues being sorted out ,as you can see, and I would assume most members will give it some time until they are dealt with.
    Cheers
    Gormo

Hi Gormo, Yes that must be it. But it's ok for posting messages in threads because we are doing it. It was off the line for more than a week anyway, so all the main changes should have been done by now. They must have been if we can post these messages. Ken.

    Not entirely Ken,
I had a problem yesterday which required a Skype with Paul to be resolved. Only half the front page was active for me.
Our Admin team are not programmers. This is their hobby and they are trying their best to resolve a number of blips on the radar.
For example......the Gormo`s Shed Collection page requires approx. 100 links applied to it to activate it properly. That will require a considerable amount of Paul`s time to rectify.
The Admin lads all work full time so dealing with these issues sees them working into the night and the wee small hours of the morning.
The fundamentals are here though, and if this was run as a business, it would have been fully functional when switched on. It`s not a business though, it`s a hobby, and as such we have to allow more time to reach the fully operational status.
Each day will see improvements and more functionality, but in the meantime we just have to be patient.
    Cheers
    Gormo

Thanks Gormo. I'm just puzzled. Toto originally said it would be 2 or 3 days off the line. And it was only 3 days, because after that I got back on here again and I posted some messages. And I had a PM message from Toto about them last week. And we are posting messages now. But nobody else? Except Sol, so it is not just me and the Admins. Most of it is working ok, the gallery in the Media and posting pictures and videos all works. I will just wait and see. Ken. Eh, I just got some emails from yesterday while I was writing this, so something must be happening.

    Ken

Now that Paul has resolved the password reset issue, you should see more of us coming on line, however I'm with Gormo, patience is the key.

    Regards
    Peter

Hum, now there's an issue that is probably already on the "to fix" list - links in signature don't work

And now I understand why - the links need to be updated, and there-in lies another issue, the new signature section appears to only allow one line :(
A further linked issue (pun intended) - all links in old posts will need some sort of attention, as they re-direct to the old location.

    Hi Peter,

To put a clickable link in your signature, use URL tags like this:

edit: Sorry, that doesn't work. No doubt the team will be fixing it.

    regards,

    Martin.

Thanks for trying Martin - at least you've shown me that Alerts on screen and via e-mails are working, although it takes a while for the indicator to turn itself off after the on-line Alert message has been read.

    regards

    Peter

    Hi

I have done a simple how to on inserting links - same works for editing links just highlight the text of the link and click on the chain icon upload_2018-2-19_17-36-37.png

The how to can be found in the Common Forum Links box

Finally managed to adjust the currently very limited signature entry to something I can live with (below) - for as long as necessary.

Didn't feel that leaving dead links in the old signature was particularly helpful.
