A Box full of Shinys

The Southern Aurora was a overnight sleeper service that operated between Sydney and Melbourne approx 1000km
First run in 1962 finishing in 1986 the train then became known as the Sydney Melbourne express and ran until 1996 when it was replaced by XPT sets Ozzy equivelant to a HST

A Box full of Shinys literally a celebration treat for myself.

Having had a rough 4-1/2 years after damaging/breaking part of my spine and being put though the ringer by an insurance exploiting a loophole in the workplace injury laws even though my spine is held together by something that resembles a modern erector set we finaly resolved the situation with judgement that I could be released from the loophole.
So what better reason to get a really nice set of Shinys.

They are very fine models several versions of the cars produce by the manufacture (Auscision) to make a complete set of 14 cars
The main set comes as a set of 10 cars with power car, lounge dining, several types of sleeping cars, and a luggage/guards van, an add on set of 4 extra sleeping cars is available to make the 14 car consist.
Some sets have an aluminated tail sign with the Southern Aurora emblasend in blue neon.
Lots of very fine detail with full underbody detail correct bogies foe each car type only one issue I have found is with one type of bogie there isn't enough articulation an easy mod trimming off the interfering part and they run very nicely.

To save on photos I have made up a video of my 10/14 car Sydney/Melbourne Express set behind A Vline Gclass plus a NSW 80class. and my friend Tims 10 car set pulled behind a Garret AD60 class, on the local club layout

Enjoy the video, I had a nice afternoon running my Aurora set very relaxing watching the 14 cars snake round the layout.
