So I've been rooting through some of my photo archives (why does 'iPhoto' and 'My Pictures on a Mac keep putting blocks of photo's into complicated files.......Grrrrrr!). Anyway, here are a few more for your enjoyment, and in no particular order or region... This in Swindon's "Steam" museum. Attached files
Ex-'Woodhead' loco in the NRM, York. I can remember around the late 50's these loco's going over the "Wicker Arches" (known locally as t'Wicker) in Sheffield to what was then 'Sheffield Victoria station', Long gone now. Attached files
......and another (much uglier) one. I guess this must have been the '2CV' of the railway world, but it did the business! In the NRM again. Attached files
"Tangmere" at Canterbury West. We had just been pulled by this loco from Southall down to Canterbury. Departure was an hour late due to power failure on the line, we could move, but no-one else could. They had to get hold of a diesel to clear the line for us, then "Tangmere's" driver set about making up time back to Southall by half an hour, and Boy did he give it some 'Welly". I can't ever remember enjoying a steam trip better than this one, just like being back in the late 50's again. Attached files
This "Crab" is on the Strathspey Railway at Aviemore, Scotland. Remember this one, Gormo? Attached files
Nice pictures. It may not survive much longer in that guise. It could turn into a convertible if that bridge were to settle / sink a couple of inches.
Midland Railway again, this time at Butterley about 6 miles down the road from my home. Attached files
